Ok... which part of the the C.A.P. does Nxt preserve?

Nxt has eventual consistency (like Bitcoin). Does this answer ur question?

No it does not,  name 2 out of the 3  of the CAP theorem that is satisfied by Nxt?

Actually it does answer the question. Use the force brain, Luke.

So you are saying that it can maintain availability (which I agree) and survive partitioning ( which I don't think so).

What is in the algorithm for Nxt that makes it tolerant to partitioning?

Troll night.
Some people didn't get dates...  Roll Eyes

And some folks (not just you specifically Smiley) keep feeding the trolls

In this case: guilty as charged  Smiley

I don't normally get really upset, but I basically get very angry with people who have double standards and play dirty games by twisting words.
It would be OK if he genuinely was trolling, but this guy is using so many wellknown tricks in the book of con artists that it's ridiculous.

Suggestive phrasing, selective quoting, selective ignoring, turning around the burden of proof, framing, the list goes on.

The guy has "used car salesman" written all over in the worst sense of the term.

Might perhaps this show that BCNext is one of top cryptographers in the world?

We could ask him to do the audit of NRS crypto algo for 10 BTC...  Grin

I seriously doubt it.   The way he coded the 'secret phrase' stuff.  That was borderline pathetic.

you are a raging retard if you dont understand what this allows.  and its still possible to implement a wallet.dat type of client if so desired.  the fact that you dont seem to understand this tells me you have no clue on how to dev a coin

If you don't think it was pathetic,  then I would argue that you don't have a clue.

I guess for you, it was perfectly okay that folks lost their Nxt because they had a secret phrase of 8 digits.

but tell me, why would I possibly want to do that?

U confuse partitioning of network with partitioning of data storage.

Nxt has very high Availability coz all the data is stored in the blockchain. The blockchain can't be partitioned, that's why Partition tolerance issue doesn't arise at all.

Partition tolerance is important for other data storage schemes, for example, DHT.

It will survive it...

Ok, It actually won't survive partition, if some government decides to cut off
"teh internetz" (i.e. think of Great Firewall of China)

Then folks on behind that firewall will obviously end-up on a fork
(but there's no coin that would solve that)

Well, I would like to know how Nxt handles a fork.  That's what I'm trying to understand here.

Actually,  I want to know if Nxt is a worthless piece of junk or something that is worth building on top of.   So far, it looks like the former, until I can get a better explanation from someone.

No news.

Depends.

If we have a solution, it's good. If we don't, then it isn't.

What's the current status? I dropped out the other day because I needed some sleep.
