Frankly, we should be using the 10 mil for as many required expenses as possible. Isn't there some uncertainty of what will happen to those unclaimed funds if a consensus hasn't been met by the community by april, (says CfB?) So why dont we just come to agreement one bit at a time and see whats left when april or whenever comes.
On the 3rd of April I'll send the unclaimed coins to the genesis block. U should come to a consensus by that time, if u need this money.

I don't think anybody has disagreed with the 3 million NXT from unclaimed funds for marketing. Do you want to continue managing that by running polls, etc. or would you rather delegate that to someone else?
I prefer to delegate that to someone else.

I am really interested in seeing if we can standardize on Raspberry Pis as the Official Public Node of NXT and deploy a lot of those all over the world rather than renew a bunch of more expensive VPSs that got us thru the initial late Dec crunch. I have heard different things about it - it can definitely forge blocks, it's underpowered for the task, it works better if you plug a thumb drive in the USB port to give it more memory, it needs to be replaced by a Cubie. I would like to pull all this together and come up with a definitive answer on a Raspberry config that is qualified to be a Service Node without running out of horsepower. Dave, your thoughts? ....
If we're thinking of deploying embedded servers like Rpi instead of VPS, I'd suggest we consider Odroid-U3. It's only marginally more costly than Rpi, but have far better tech specs. I've been running one for weeks and it works like a charm. I repeat what I said weeks ago. The RaspberryPi thing can be extremely huge for Nxt. For the network, and for marketing. If a smartphone (when we switch to binary) can process 1000TPS, a RaspberryPi could also process 1000TPS, am I right? If this is not the case, we should look into the Odroid, if it is far superior to RPi. Are the RPi running stable? Would the Odroid run more stable? I have no clue about this stuff but maybe some technical guys could help with that. If RPis are running stable AND can process 1000TPS (with binary code), I wan't to see thousands of them all over the planet running Nxt. THIS is decentralization in perfection.

I think it's more than enough for 1000 TPS.

/r/NXTThe subreddit with our correct name finally goes live! I hope that we can grow to something like /r/Bitcoin. Suggestions all via PM here or on reddit.com, also if any known member wants to be moderators please write me.

If the answers are Yes, we should stay with RaspberryPis: 1. The name RaspberryPi is good for marketing (or is Odroid also this famous?) 2. RaspberryPis use less power, I assume If the answers are No, we should try with Odroid.

Have you considered well-tested compression tools?
I know it is tempting to define our own binary syntax but it's far more error-prone than using a matured solution. Another issue is giving up text-based syntax flexibility, expandability and fast and easy debugability. Just speaking from experience, my own and of others (some of which have failed because of that).
I don't know how experienced JL and you are when it comes to software engineering but I strongly advice you to consider different solutions.
NRS already has internal binary format, that was me who added JSON.

0.2.x versions worked with binary format. Now peer communication is done with JSON format.

What do I do about DGEX not honoring my withdrawal and keeping my BTC?
1st - do not troll to the general NXT thread 2nd - contact DGEX, we have no "unhonored" withdrawals, a handful out of the tens of thousands are under investigation requiring input from customer. Thank you

1. Is Nxt running stable on RaspPi?
AFAIK, yes. 2. Can RaspPi process 1000TSP?
I think, no. I has not so much memory, that can be problem on so high speed even if CPU is enough. Probably that can be fixed with careful core rewriting, profiling and optimizing, but I doubt on that... 1. The name RaspberryPi is good for marketing (or is Odroid also this famous?)
Yes, RPi is best known name for microcomputers in present time. 2. RaspberryPis use less power, I assume
No. It uses much older CPU arch, than Odroid or Cubieboard. Newer CPU usualy better in term of power consumption. ARM Cortex-A7/A9/A15 must be way better than ARM11. Just compare: - RPi has ARM11 (quiet old) single-core 700MHz CPU and 512Mb of RAM in best case - CubieBoard3 has Cortex-A7 double-core 1GHz CPU and 2Gb of RAM - Odroid-U3 has Cortex-A9 quad-core 1.7GHz CPU with 2Gb of RAM and still doesn't cost too much That's my humble opinion. Probably wrong, but it's better to make tests before marketing RPi. Me personally prefer to see some nice video about how to build solar-powered CubieBoard3-based Nxt node in five minute without soldering iron, kernel hacking and black magic. Or may be with black magic, but in three minute That video can be good marketing in microcomp's community, or for inquisitive youth minds, you know.

I can. Create the poll plz. James is referring to the 2nd Month portion (250,000K nxt) of the MARKETING FUND. Anyhow it is too early your 1st transfer to the fund (Salsacz) was on January 18th. The next transfer should be done on February 18th. Edit: I will remind you...don;t worry

.. We have paid for 1 minute sponsor spot at the Let's talk Bitcoin for 3 months. Once again I have to say something as paying this huge amount just to be mentioned in a show where most of the listeners probably already know about Nxt (people that know about cryptos) is just ridiculous. - agree 100% : I didn't listen to the interview coz I don't comprehend English speech. - as well as millions and millions of other non-American people.

Any feedback from the Zerocoin people? Personally I think that implementing ZC will bring more attention than many other things (and something that I think most others are simply not going to have the guts to do). The attention might not be all good of course - but I think the Nxt community is perhaps a little braver than others in this regard. Also perhaps the point should be being made to the ZC guys about how difficult it is to actually launch a new coin (especially in the current market) and whether they really want to do that rather than working with others such as Nxt that are keen to incorporate their baby.
