My very quick point before I go into stealth mode to work on the carbon-offset proposal:

It's hard enough to communicate as it is, without important members of the NXT community turning their backs on each other.
It's a community, with a common goal, we need to get along with each other even if we disagree.

Thanks for the clarification - so I would simply put forward what I stated as a "last resort for consensus" (i.e. if we can't agree on anything better could we at least agree to do that kind of thing).

I don't doubt there are better ways to use the funds but it's good to at least have a "fallback plan" in case of no other consensus.

All the participants did a good programming work, and they deserve a solid consolation prizes.

That would be great! I think not only marketing is important. IMHO all our programmers have to be supported.

I think we are agreed that money needs to go to both and even to projects we haven't even thought of.

This kind of thinking just leads to an unnatural tension between elements that all are needed. No one is proposing to solely focus on one aspect of the whole plan.

This discussion keeps biting us in the ass because somehow we keep forgetting some of these things have been said already. Useless waste of energy.

So far I have seen no one here that wants to grab bucketloads of Nxt because it is fun. Every time someone asked for funding it was for a part of the project they believed in and put many many MANY hours in.

I agree. Seems like a good last resort. Big shareholders wouldn't care of these small amounts distributed under their noses.

sure, let's ask Tai Zen to stop making new videos, let's stop supporting people who spend 90+ hours/week by promoting Nxt and concentrate only on people who do only one thing, like lynnx, who received a 400.000 NXT bounty for one video and we never saw him in this community again.

So thanks to public ignorance of these requests, there is no table for the Raspberri Pi. And we are still looking for a volunteer from those "talented people" to take over the Raspberri Pi.

Whoa there Salsacz, actually it was 2 videos and in fact the very first one was the first video about NXT to hit YouTuibe. I have my own things in the works and just because I'm on the back burner letting the community grow does not mean I am no longer here. You should take comfort in the fact that earlier individuals have taken a step back to allow new Nxt'ers join the fold and earn some NXT for bounties. There is not one poll that has gone by, nor one post I have not read.

Please don't be so self righteous as to believe that since you are now heading up the marketing you can now have a I'm doing it all attitude and call people out. You are doing what you are doing because you volunteered for pay. I myself have donated over 50,000 NXT, so please watch what toes you step on when you say disappeared.

I have a better idea, if you are going to represent NXt and run the marketing, I suggest you do that and stay out of politics.

Qbtc is rreferring to the www.nxtcrypto.org site.  She should not have to pay the fefees out of pocket.  Come on people.  Same for joefox on wiki and btc24 on forums and intel for info/download.

I We sent 50k + 5k for wiki to cover for last 2 months from the NxtMarketing. There is also a small support for new sites from these funds and there would be support for most important sites that also provide new content... Most important are consultations.. this page is not optimal for new users: http://www.nxtcrypto.org/nxt-coin/client-download but new clients would hopefully solve it

I say we just all agree to authorize CfB to repay from unclaimed nxt, to qbtc the amount shes spent so far, along with enough to keep site running til end of year.  Same for other sites.  This shit aint free

Thanks for taking up the discussion! As for winning any contests - I didn't hear anything about it. And I didn't receive any notification or major funds around the time those were running. Sorry guys, I'm too busy doing things to take the time to keep track of how I'm performing here on the forums. There will always be naysayers...

There was a contributor to the nxtcrypto fund that Opticalcarrier fairly divided among us some time ago and I believe it was outside the scope of a contest. I also got a rather nice sum of 25,000 NXT at the very beginning. I do have the same expectation that you all have that NXT will increase and cover our investments of dollars and time. But the discussion about marketing and the comparatively low value that has been placed on it brings me to the place where I want to say a few words.

I really don't want to be a pain here. I just don't want to drop the ball and you all wonder why...

There are a few MANY good developers here who want to contribute to the Nxt ecosystem!


Why aren't we collecting ideas which could be turned to functional websites/services. For this we could reserve like 4M NXT. After we have about 10-15 project ideas we assign a bounty to each. Now everyone who comes forward and wants to do it, get the bounty.


Remember, if we have a GOOD product, we don't really need advertisements or marketing!



Also, what do you think about getting the funds from the unused NXT for the reddit campaign? We don't need much, but if we could get 50k NXT we would have many possibilities on reddit to advertise.
