I don't think this is the best protocol.
Yes, this is the most popular platform, it is very important and necessary platform. But unfortunately, this is not the best solution now. Vitalik's team tries to solve all the problems with which Ether is facing now. Previously, this wasn't relevant. Now the system simply can not cope.
If Vitalik can't solve the problems, and other platforms will release finished products without these problems. I think Ethereum will have problems with a drop in capitalization.

There are many bugs in ETH whether you like it or not that is the fact, we have seen many hacks in the past because of that and so is the reason we have ETC now. Another thing is that it is not even a currency, it is used to distribute tokens for projects and that is the only use for ETH.

As a hero member and you didn't evem watch the dao carefully.
1 the mistake has made by the dao team, to recover its lost and ethereum forked its blockchain and there was no something wrong with ethereum and bug. Stop to spread bullshit about that.
2 the majority of hacked case in ethereum have happened with 3rd party software or service and it's not ethereum.

For me it is the best blockchain protocol. The bitcoin blockchain protocol is very good but just the fact that it is no longer being worked on is what sets it back behind the ethereum blockchain. The team behind ethereum are actively working on it and that means that it finds it easier to evolve as the market does and keep up with the times and with so many adoptions of the ethereum blockchain, it would be no surprise when it passes bitcoin.

Ethereum is the still the most used blockchain but definitely not the best one. It was invented long time ago and didn't change much since than time. You can see that ETH network can't cope with a large number of transactions, so ETH need a big improvement to stay on its 2nd place.

So far it is, based on the many companies using it in their ICO platform, I am also satisfied with it, the transaction is fast and the fee is very low, compared to Bitcoin I hate to say it but it is a good alternative for merchants, although many are now coming in the market the latest I read is Credits.

Ethereum is not the best but ethereum is a good crypto currency for long-term investments, if you are a trader, certainly would not miss to invest in this one altcoin.

Ethereum is for sure a great project. However, lack of support of other programming languages is a significant restriction. Modern blockchain projects release themselves from this vice, supporting C#, VB.Net, and others. Another flaw is PoW consensus algorithm which is a burden that will be more and more tangible with the time.
