Very true I should not say these things

I will be using my stablecoin to purchase I-tunes songs and kitchen utensils, that is all.

On that note, apparently there is a StableCoin marketplace looking to launch very soon, be on the lookout for it

Getting rid of that fear is part of the point of this. Tally ho.

Well I've given up on getting any response from Coins-E about my missing SBC.  They don't give a crap.  Nearly 3 weeks and no response.

https://pool.chunky.ms/doge/site_assets/chunky/img/chunky_small_1.png

Hey StableCoin thread, looking for a place to mine SBC?  Join us at Chunky Pool!

Here's a little more info:

  • 0% fees forever, not just "for now"
  • SSL encryption
  • Custom MPOS layout
  • Support and a wonderful community @ irc.freenode.net #chunky
  • We are equipped to withstand thousands of workers
  • Excellent stability and uptime

We also provide many other coin pools and even have a coin-switching multi-port that switches between coins to maximize profitability!

One account fits all
We have modified MPOS to provide a multipool experience. You only have to create one account, and that account is shared among all of our coin instances. Unlike some other multipools, and since we're on top of MPOS, we offer you complete transparency about provided shares, found blocks and much more!

Pools
  • Dogecoin - port 3333
  • Earthcoin - port 3334
  • RonPaulCoin - port 3335
  • Lottocoin - port 3336
  • Stablecoin - port 3337
  • 42coin - port 3338
  • Digibyte - port 3339
  • Litecoin - port 3340
  • Klondikecoin - port 3341
  • Multiport - port 6666

And perhaps the biggest reason of all: we are miners just like you. We started this pool because we were sick of trying to find pools that didn't go down all the time. We are committed to making a better mining environment for you and for ourselves.

I encourage all dedicated SBC miners to join up, this is the only pool that supports SBC only! All other pools have 5-6 other coins that they are mining also, so you can bet your bottom SBC that this pool is 100% backed and supported by the owner, and I hope that everyone dedicated to SBC shows their support!

I can't say that Artos' recent post, that he's only working on the mixing service when he finds some spare time, reassures me at all about the future of this coin, considering what others have said about Anoncoin and Zerocoin having teams of devs working on it and so likely to get there first. I'm not even sure it would save SBC if it did get the mixing service first, as now that people expect other coins to have the same feature soon they might just decide one of those other coins has a catchier name and wait for it to get it's mixing service. After all, if they've got the same features, what else separates coins except for the name and the confidence people have in those behind it, which in the case of SBC is just Artos and he hasn't exactly been going out of his way to make people feel confident?

It might still have a chance if it gets the mixing service first though but that's a big if considering Artos' limited time and that we don't even know how much work he's done/still has to do, so I'm really hoping a team can be formed to try and get it done before any other coin manages it, although I appreciate it's not an easy task.

Exactly my thoughts. I don't see this going anywhere with a single developer whose priority isn't the coin and who doesn't even care to market it or inform people on a regular basis. When he came back he made it sound like he and other people would be putting a lot of effort into making it a successful long-term coin, yet it never made it to a chinese exchange or anything. If we as a community don't put real effort into making things happen the coin is as good as dead.

I made my case that Artos should open up expressions of interest to make a dev team here:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=349198.msg4594734#msg4594734

I think his issue is trust - the fear that someone may join the dev team and then copy the mixing code and give it to another coin. However, if he opens up expressions of interest he can sift through the post history of different people to see who is most reliable. People like R-T-B and Zavtra seem to be very trustworthy judging by their comments and how long and active they've been as part of this community and I'd recommend he brings them on board - R-T-B has already expressed his interest.

It is frustrating having a Single Point Of Failure with this coin. It also makes people hesitant to support/invest in this coin as its future is uncertain. I am well aware that the mixing feature will definitely take some time, and I have no doubt Artos is working hard on it. But if we don't get there first, SBC will die (unless there turns out to be a huge problem with the anonymizing features of zerocoin/anoncoin, buying us more time).

Also, Artos, could you please update the original post with the 1.5 clients, as well as add links to the CoinedUp and Coins-E SBC/BTC markets in the exchanges section of the website:

CoinedUp: https://coinedup.com/OrderBook?market=SBC&base=BTC
Coins-E: https://www.coins-e.com/exchange/SBC_BTC/

Nice idea but I haven't generated a substantial amount of SBC from my mining yet and can't afford to give any away.

It's not going to work if you never trust anyone Artos and don't share the load with people who are actually willing to help. Just make sure these people are long standing members and don't have any coins of their own. There are many trustworthy people around and you only gain trust by giving people small responsibilities and build on that over time.

I don't know about you but I would like as many skilled devs as possible (being properly managed). It would be far better than a single person doing everything (who also works full time on something different).

We can start development of a mixing service without artos.

It would really benefit us to have his assistance right now though.

He'd better wisen up in that regard. Ultimately there are going to have to be some people that he trusts in the community, or this won't move.
