It will get even more interesting sooner or later bitmain will announce a compute chip, which means whatever algo is minable on GPUs will be minable on this chip also, thats how the evolution will go , this will be the end of forking to change the algo it will be useless. This will drive the crypto market to make big shifts a lot of coins will be forced to make an implantation of POS solution or just keep the existing POW algo.

Have a $400 bitmain coupon for anyone considering a z9 purchase.    https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3300918.0

I am debating whether to spring for one myself.  It would make it a lot easier if bitmain let you know how many they will be producing for batch 1.

No coupons for Z9. PM me price for the coupon though, I might want to use it for something else.

And Bitmain monopolizing everything continues..

Still by the love of god, do not understand why people keep buying their second hand stuff that has been running for god knows how long..

It's probably just me i guess..

The people bitching about decentralization need a fucking reality check.  This is almost like people arguing politics, missing the big picture as politicians and banks get richer.  1st there are numerous coins in the top 100 that use Equihash. 2nd, look here:  https://zen.suprnova.cc/index.php?page=statistics&action=pool  Take a look at the hashrate of the top 15 miners.  You guys are clueless if you don't think this is already centralized.  At the end of the day, the small miner is always competing against the big guys, doesn't matter if you have ASICs or not.  If you can't handle technological change then its time to quit mining.

POS is death  there is no economical reason for it to work .

FPGA will hurt gpu mining this year.

Now as for this gear there will be some forks and one or two of the equihash coins may thrive monero comes to mind it is doing well as c7.

To me this makes LTC look better as it has a lot of asics already.  It may return to a much higher spot on the food chain of mining.

This is exactly USP of GPUs today and why they differ from ASICs. It will be probably challenging to make ASIC for some memory intensive algos like Neoscrypt. On the other hand Equihash was also supposed to be resistant, so we will see if they manage to crack the other ones too.

Not true, you can use a coupon for Z9 , per Bitmain themselves right on the Z9 product detail page : " Coupons below the 50% value of the miners may be used for this batch. "

A good profit for new device. However, by the time of delivery, the complexity may change and a profit of $ 35-40 may remain in the past.
Bitmain wrote that 20-30 june start date to send asics.

It says 1 per customer, even if using multiple email addresses.  How do you order multiple?

Most likely people are using different addresses, emails and/or using a VPN or something of the sort to change their IP in conjunction with different addresses and emails to bypass the 1 per customer limit.

On the topic of coupons, are there actually coupons out there that are greater than 50% of the value of the Z9? I’ve only seen the $400 coupons around here and no amounts greater than $400.

you need a friend that lives near you to order one.
