Help  Huh

I followed the instructions but I cannot get my cube to communicate.  I keep getting these error messages:  http://i985.photobucket.com/albums/ae334/chris_sabian3/Untitled2121_zpsdc93c7f1.jpg

I have no firewall running on the computer and no router firewall.  Win7.

Could anyone please help me?  I think that I just have something mis-typed but I don't know where...

I'm not having any luck getting mine set up either.  They'll start up and accept a few shares then they basically stop.  I've even swapped out PSU's to make sure that they're not an issue.

Was wondering if there is a way to manually adjust voltage to chips? to get them running over-clocked, Low gets me about 31,5-32 Gh/s which is ok.

These guys have a two-state internal regulator, so when you switch to High Clock it adjusts the voltage output automatically to work with the higher clock. Shouldn't need manual adjustments - which is good because the parts for manual adjustment don't exist. It's built to work high/low without messing with the innards.

If I can get a simple solution figured out for improved cooling, it might be possible to run faster than the standard High Clock. I've got a test rig that's peaked out at 39.8GH, cooling is keeping it from going faster until I get some more parts in. Should run about 43GH.

Cool, quiet and up to 1TH pod miner, on sale now!

I'm having PSU problems. I'm trying to use a new Seasonic Platinum 1000 to run 2 cubes. The PSU is spec'd at 83A on the +12V rail (more than enough).

After power on (via paperclip) the cubes (at low clock) turn on but then when the relays click (a second or so later) the PSU shuts down. Removing the paperclip and adding it back results in the exact same behavior.

If I power the cubes individually, it works fine. Killawatt draw shows to be normal (220W on low clock) for both of them. PSU can power either one at high clock just fine as well.

Any thoughts? Seems like there is an initial rush of current that trips the PSU's overcurrent protection. I'm using heavy duty 6pin PCI-E cables that came with the PSU (2 per cube, so 4 total). PSU is supposed to have a shared +12V rail.

I tried both Slush's and another custom.

Interesting. As you say 12V rail is perfectly fine, and it powers one cube fine. Initial non mining power draw is only ~80W as well.

Unfortunately some of these larger PSUs have random technologies we don't particularly understand that are used to 'protect' us. While we don't know what is going on here, another example is an Enermax maxrevo 1500W I have. If it doesn't detect SOME power draw on 3.3v and 5v - it won't boot at all and so I can't use it to power 12V devices only. In an Avalon its perfectly happy though.

For now we obviously need to get you mining as that's $30 a day, so it might be worth just buying another PSU.

So far I believe this to be a username and password (auth) issue, hence it keeps spamming the pool to give it data. Formatting is pool1user:pool1pass,pool2user:pool2pass       are you sure that's correct?

Can you post/pm pics of your configs please?

Edit: Just looked at the picture, you need to enter the username and password TWICE even if its for the same pool.

I actually had this issue with a hacked-up 500W server supply. The problem was, when the relays trip it requires a large burst current that drains the output capacitors inside the power supply. I tucked a couple 3300uF 16V caps into the 6-pin connectors, such that they would charge up when the power supply kicked on, and then supply burst current requirements when the miner fully fired up. This reduces the burst load on the power supply, which may be tripping overcurrent or undervolt protection (as the output cap voltage drops out before the regulator can compensate).

Find a couple good-sized 16+V capacitors at Radio Shack or something and wire them onto the 12V lines and it'll probably solve the problem.

Can you foresee any issues running 3 of these guys on a good ole' AX1200 ? Was planning on using those. Have been eyeing some Seasonic 1250's on NewEgg I thought of snagging, but the Corsair stuff is readily available at the local Fry's whereas Seasonics are not available.

I have the Corsair 1200i  and had problems at start-up, even with all three at low clock setting.  The power supply will trip off and indicate an overload.

Try it, I would be curious to see if others have the same problem running three of them with a corsair.  I have since moved the others to a new PS and don't have any issues, except one cube ocasionally will stop hashing and go to all 'X's" and require a hard reset. I think this just may be a hardware issue with this one cube.

Its annoying when they try and 'protect' us when actually they just make it worse.

I had an issue with an old CoolerMaster 1000w PSU. Could not get the cubes to power up and the would click every 10-15 seconds. Hooked them up to a Corsair 1200 watt and everything works fine. I have 2 on the 1200, 1 on a Corsair 750, and the 4th cube is split between the 1200 and 750.  They are all hashing away at 36 gh/s. Thanks for the guide!!!

Fixed the problem.  I added a period instead of a comma in the username and password.

Perfect. I had a couple of 1000uF 16V caps that were enough to get the relays jump started w/o tripping the PSU protection. I just temporarily wedged them into the connector to get it started (then I removed them once the relays clicked). I'll come up with a more elegant sol'n later. Thanks again.
