I have some Corsair CX750 PSU's available for sale.  They are in new condition and have only been used for 2-3 weeks.  These work well with the ASICMiner Cube (2-3 weeks without any hiccups at all). 

Well, no, they're a crap-shoot the same as any other PSU.  I had difficulties getting my Cube to work with a CX750, but the Cube worked fine with an ancient PSU out of an old Dell.

Well I've been running over 20 Cubes with these PSU's without any issues.  I think odds of them running for you are a lot better than a crap-shoot.

I've only had Cubes running overclocked for two or three weeks, but no issues past a single X'd card - just haven't had time to fix it. About half my cards have actually been jacked to a higher-than-factory overclock just because.

I have a Blade that's been in continual operation at 20% faster than these Cubes' overclock frequency, for two months without a single issue. The way I figure, as long as you keep them cool enough, they should last their expected (profitable) lifetime.

Also, effin' YES on the DDWRT. My last two wireless routers were both flashed to said firmware, and I have another running around which needs to be given "the treatment".

Thanks for your input. I have been "cycling" them for lack of a better word. I run them 8 hours on low and 8 hours on high. Perhaps its overkill but I sleep better by doing this  

"The Treatment", I like how you put that. Yes, any flashable router that enters the house will not keep its OEM virginity for long  

I am using BFGminer on RPi as proxy server.  Running Corsair 750M power supply.  Pool with Bitminter.

Can't figure out why the long poll shows inactive, when BFGminer setting is long poll = active.

Any ideas?

I have run into the same situation regarding the "Long Poll inactive" and have noticed that my stale share percentage is out of the desirable range. I was researching this and saw that Dogie made this comment below. Is there a short answer or any insight one of you could give regarding making my hardware & my stratum proxy "play nice". I am running the latest version of BFGMiner, my networking is cleaned up, exceptions made in any firewalls etc etc. Cant figure it out. I have tried 3-4 different pools to see if that would clear the problem up and still the same.

Your blade and stratum proxy aren't playing nice, hence 'long poll inactive'.

I have the same problem with regards to overclocking my cube. I have noticed that if I set the clock setting to high without saving the settings, it will overclock for a couple or several hours (oscillates between 34GH/s to 40GH/s) until it restarts on its own and start on "low" clock. However, if I save the settings on clock "high", I will notice several chips marked "x". If I restart on low and save the setting on low clock, I see no "x" marked.

I am using a 850W OCZ Gold PSU to power up other devices too but I have isolated the cube on its own and I still have the problem (heating issue? Firmware issue?). I also use BFGminer 3.8 on a Rpi running on proxy with other old FPGA (CM1's and ZTEX) with Blue furies and BE USB miners running on Raspbian "wheezy" hard float ABS.

I also do get "longpoll inactive" too.

I've tried this. When I set my "pool addresses" to my IP (I'm on a router, so 192.168.x.x) and I have the wallet running as a server, it never connects and the cubes themself  never show a hashrate. I'm also assuming that neither CGMiner or BFG Miner could be used in this situation.

Solo mining is mainly done now on other crypto-currencies where the difficulty level is much lower and can be done on a normal PC. In Bitcoin, the difficulty has gone so high since March 2013 that it would take you more than 5 years and 131 days from today to solve a block depending on luck! Since ASIC mining equipment adoption is growing, pool-mining is the way forward.

I know this. That's why I want to solo mine other SHA-256 altcoins. I've been around long enough to know that for solo mining BTC today you need an industry sized hashrate.

Server address is the IP address of the computer that is running the stratum proxy. To find: Network and sharing center > click on the connection > details > IPv4 address = the IP you need to put into the server field.

You don't do anything with the stratum proxy once it is running.

You enter your miner's username and password in the miner user:pass field.

I didn't find an IPv4 address. Just a simple IP address for my wireless connection. It's probably the wrong IP address that's why it isn't working. I just need confirmation that I will need to put it in the pool adderesses tab in the cube config page. How can I find the IPv4 of the stratum proxy? Couldn't find what u wrote above.

If you run each adapter off a separate molex line (as in, not four connectors on the same wire) it might work. These can draw around 12-13A from each PCIe without blinking so you'd want them on separate lines or your wires will melt. Also make sure your 450W PSU is rated for at least 25A minimum - 30A is better, so you're not running everything at capacity. If it's a somewhat old supply, it's probably got the 12V and 5V co-regulated so putting any sort of load on the 5V rail will probably help keep 12V voltages high (closer to calibrated 12V at least) which will help reduce current draw for the same power draw.
And then make sure everything's seated tight so you don't smoke out the connector pins themselves.

My cube is running now. Thanks for this detailed writeup.
Few questions:

1. My cube is connected to router, hardwired. Now I want to move the cube to some other location, and dont want to keep it connected to my router. What are my options!
2. Can I use this as a standalone miner, so not having to keep my laptop on all the time?
3. The proxy is running in the background. So this has to be ON all the time? Any other options?
4. Can I run the cube with bitminter?
5. How to use the cube to mine alt currencies.

UPDATE after 2-3 hrs: I started again and it started working again. Strange! Did exactly the same things. Wonder, what happened here.

I'm hoping someone here can help me with (what I think is) a power supply problem.

I bought a Corsair RM-850 power supply.  Should be able to handle two cubes, right?

It handles two cubes fine, when they're on Low clock.  When I switch even one of them to high, after about 10-15 minutes the power supply shuts down and feels hot to the touch.  I have to switch the power supply off and back on to get things going again.

I've read that this power supply does not need to run its fan if the load is less than 40%.  And when the two cubes are on Low clock, indeed the power supply fan does not run.  When I switch a cube to High clock, the fan does start to run, but it doesn't look like it runs very fast.  Hot air is coming out the back, but only until the power supply shuts down, apparently due to a heat issue.

Does anyone have experience with this power supply?  Should I contact Corsair's tech support?

Hello.
Just wondering if anyone could possibly know why is my cube shutting off while switching it to high clock.
Its connected to 1200w platinum corsair psu. Mining via BFGminer proxy on another machine , connected to btcguild stratum server.
Checked the blades if all the screws all tighten up correctly as well.
Low settings works perfectly , hashing 32gh/s. As soon as i switch it to high , it just stops mining , have to switch back to low and reboot psu completely to get it mining again afterwards.
Soo everything seems correctly set up to me.
Any ideas ? Im quite lost here , have no idea what else could be wrong.

Are u getting all x's when u put the cube into overclock?  If so, u prob have one bad board. try taking all the boards out and add back one by one in overclock mode until u find the bad board. make sure to shut down before adding each board.

Can someone help me debug a restarting cube?

Every 8 minutes or so (8 minutes and 40 seconds it seems), the cube will restart automatically and the effect is an overall lower hashing rate.  I have tried running the proxy on 2 different machines but I get the same results.  I notice a lot of warning messages in the proxy logs and BTCGuild will estimate my hashing at about 24GH/s.  The heatsinks are all tight, it's in a well ventilated area and all looks good except for the "Started before:" time never going that much higher than 8 minutes.  I've created brand new workers and done a factory reset.  What can I try next?
