Finally got this S1 to work, my actiontec router would not work with it whatsoever. Had to set the S1 up wireless and it has been flawless so far!

Hey quick question. I have an AntMiner S1 and its not letting me access it via the address on the sticker. I just got it from a friend that was having some issues with it and trying to help them out. I have reviewed over the troubleshooting techniques and nothing has worked. I have pressed the little black button for 3 seconds, nothing. i tried it for 5 and still nothing. i tried the paper clip and still didn't work.

I have uploaded a small video of what lights are flashing.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kzPJt_gczQc

Thank you for the help.

I have also ran a ip scan to see if it will pop up and nothing
192.168.1.x
and ran a scan of the
192.168.2.x
nothing comes up

DHCP table comes up with nothing as well..

I have ran wireshark of the 192.168.1.x and the only thing that is coming up is from the computer nothing of any other address.

The flashing is a message that it has no internet connection. If your router can handle the range its sitting in, then you'd have to assume dead network board.

so why would i pay for something when i know what the issue is?

But hey if you want to pay for it and it fixes it i will pay you back.
BUT they will probably tell me the same thing of what the issue is....

Hey, buddy...

You asked the question "What to do now?" ...I answered...Just TRYING TO HELP you...

I don't want anything...It is Your Miner...not mine...Simply said...I am spending my time and a good will to even watch your video clip ...mine situation was almost the same...and they spend maybe an hour or two...but were able to fix it remotely...

Just my 2 cents...

Good luck...

Cheers,

Just curious since I don't see it in your s1 setup guide but could you also add how to change this that aren't changable via the interface like the config file. I want to change the api and I just want to make sure I know how to get to it.

I think to some extent if I'm in the right place I'm hoping I just have to use nano command if the ssh uses linux commands , but I thought I'd ask being right now you are #2 on a google search for it.

Thanks for any updates to your guide on this manner

Like the info address for potential tips Wink

This is something I avoid on S1s because its very very dangerous trying to play with the SSH. If you get a line wrong or a few characters in a line of code you push to it you can hard brick your unit as there is no safety mode to get back to WRT and reflash. You'd have to send it back to the manufacturer or buy a new control board.

Hi
As the temperature is rising, so is the noise and temps of my S1's

Do you know of i could add these at either end of my S1's in a push / pull formation
http://www.corsair.com/en/air-series-sp120-pwm-high-performance-edition-high-static-pressure-fan-twin-pack

hopefully reduce the noise and the temps
I currently have temps of 50c and a fan speed of 3240 (OC'ed to 375 190GHs ish) which is getting a bit annoying now - I can even hear them echoing in my head when I'm at work lol

Yep, will get about 6C off the temps. Alternatively if you only have a few you can do the cooling mod (reverse both boards so the heatsinks both face outwards, then 2x120mm per blade blowing directly onto each heatsink).

Not sure if that fan is going to do enough on its own. I put silent fans on the side as well as a small one in the front and it made a big difference to the noise levels:
