chinese exchanges dont have quarkcoin listed yet, and taking into account that it went to fifth place on market cap without their involvment. we can safely assume that quark will be rising faster than any other coin once chinese get their chance to molest it while the price is only at $0.2. there are rumors that btce and btc38 are to implement it very soon.

This would be an interesting development for sure!

Makes me wonder if there will be a Chinese coin which could take the #2 coin spot in a very short time.

Qaurk number 2 coin HAHAHAH you must be insane , that will never happen , qaurk will never be on btcchina , aren't 95% of all the coins already mined ? lol no reputable exchange will touch a scam coin like this ever.

Peercoin, followed closely by Litecoin and Primecoin, though Gridcoin and Curecoin might grow sharply on the back of those who want to contribute their processing power to more noble and altruistic purposes instead of just chasing speculative wealth.

I predict a lot of alts will start to die off next year and people will start to consolidate their holdings into fewer coins with meaningful and more original design purposes (i.e. Gridcoin with the use of BOINC and Curecoin with folding@home).

peercoin is centralized with checkpointing , its a fail . Only litecoin will see real growth in 2014.

Not for much longer, supposedly with v0.5 of the Peercoin client. Will soar after that happens.

Have you seen the price of Protoshare lately? It's just 0.01 BTC behind LTC

Peercoin

Namecoin

Primecoin

all have solid reasons for rising.

Litecoin and other copycat coins might rise, depending on how much press time they can muster up.

I certainly hope it will not be any of the Quark/Megacoin/Protoshares trio. I might be doing an injustice to the last one, but the concept of what are you sharing with holding PTS is beyond me... I voted for XPM, even though the reasoning behind it involves heavy speculation on difficulty increase.

Even though a coin with speed of Quark but an entirely different minting scheme would be very promising.

First MasterCoin protocol transaction -> https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=265488.msg2940318#msg2940318; please refer to thread disclosed for more information

If we bring a lot of applications, Datacoin will grow. Not 100x-1000x times, because it breaks economical model of DTC, but 10x can be easy done with good support.

Peercoin is not truly a completely decentralized currency. I suppose people are not liking that too much :S
I still think it has a lot of potential

It seems you forgot the most potential coin - China Coin (CNC - CHN). It would be China's LTC version soon.
