you could make an asic for the first algorithm, feed the results to the cpu, which would give you a 12.5% performance increase compared to pure cpu mining using the same cpu
a second asic for the second algorithm would give you 14.3% compared to the previous setup (asic1>asic2>cpu instead of asic1>cpu)
third asic 16.7% and so on, until you reach the limit of not being able to have an asic for the last 3

in the end it is a question if 6 different asics in series followed by a cpu is more efficient than 3 cpus for getting the same hashrate

Very interesting. The real questions is after the first 6 months, what will be the incentive for miners to mine and keep the network strong?

being built on top of bitcoin

Mastercoin is 5-6 times more valuable than LTC
Keep an eye on MSC in 2014 prices could be 1:1 MSC/BTC

time to perform  due diligence on this project

the only altcoins that's has potential to truly survive
are the ones who have innovation to offer if not
it's becomes one of pump & dump & than it ends
up on life support & dies on cryptsy dot com.

Altcoins were never this strong in the previous crashes. A few were around (LTC, NMC, FTC, etc) in April but didn't have nearly the visibility and attention they do now.

So, short answer:

We're all going to find out how alt coins react if bitcoin crashes.

No one was really paying attention back then (Feb-May) to Alt coins. Everyone went wild when the price went from $15- $30 and Proudhorn kept saying the price was gonna crash back to $5. Then when the price went from $40 - $80 and then up to $260 with a major crash. I was one of the people who was caught in the Gox lag. I was Goxed & lost half my BTC in that dump. Damn auto order executed at the worst possible time.  That's when I changed my strategy to buy and hold

Since most alts are directly tied to BTC a long down term would affect them. But this is BTC we are talking about. Price will hit $1300 next Mon/ Tue. $2k by Christmas. This pattern has been repeating all year. Soon as fresh deposits come in on Monday, up we go & so do all the other alts.

I like how the title is growth and not value, for example

A coin with one service grows to two, 100% growth, while a coin with 100 services get 50 more it's only 50% growth, so the smaller grew more, yay!

I voted for Quark but I am rooting for litecoin.  I said Quark because the rapid early mining will get some current and former BTC honchoes to back it while they also seem to have gained some good support from mainstream media types.

I like Litecoin because it may be furtherest along in developing the infrastructure of a coin such as faucets and sites (dicenow) that use it.  If blockchain.info would launch a LTC wallet or Coinbase started selling it then it would cement its early mover advantage.  I thought that would have happened by now already.

Growth in terms of user base and growth as value / worth are two very different things.

Litecoin should now be considered a mainstream coin. So, in no particular order...

The coin I'm voting for is Securecoin. Its quite possibly the most underrated alt. coin in existance right now. Its basically Quark (super secure), using bitcoins proven economic model. It had a fair launch, unlike a lot of the alt. coins released before it.

I'd be more of a fan of either Worldcoin or Megacoin, but digitalcoin is just a much better coin imho and this thread is about growth. digitalcoin has a much greater potential for growth as of right now, simply because its less popular. When the CryptoAve exchange launches, both digitalcoin and Securecoin could see major popularity increases in both user base and value / worth.

I would personally think that those coins current market cap could be easily exceeded by other coins.

Anoncoin is a really great coin, its just perhaps not a coin to be adopted by the masses.

People also tend to get 'buzzed' by various coins when they are new or see a revival. I'm currently unsure of the future position of Stablecoin.

Quark (like Securecoin) is great for some obvious reasons. These two coins don't really require specialist computer hardware to start mining them, this is something that new people to crypto currency should really appreciate.

Its also a better and somewhat fairer approach. You shouldn't really need to buy expensive computer hardware to participate in crypto-currency mining - in a ideal world. It actually helps to keep these coins decentralized.
