Nothing happened to Doge but as whole cryptocurrencies finally succeeded to get attention of the investors. It is reaction of a sudden interest and rush and every altcoin is selling like hot cakes. It is being used widely these days invest in any coin and get sure profit. Doge is a long runner and has pretty decent supportive community. It's chances to keep growing are much more in current scenario.People are putting money into anything that even seems legitimate. In a way it's good, more and more people are discovering the markets.

Nope, completely wrong about me. I'm realistic. Not $1, nor $0.1 this year. x100/x1000 price in a couple of months that's crazy
But if your are SURE doge is a deadcoin, you better do more research.
Wow much use Cheesy

Without some significant changes our beloved Dogecoin will never achieve it's rightful place as king of crypto. We need to figure out a way to adapt, bring back mining, and give incentive for running nodes. There are not nearly enough nodes for doge right now.

I agree

DOGE is definitely not a dead coin - plenty of volume and plenty of cap. It's never going to be the biggest alt out there - but there will always be a place for DOGE

Other coins may have more feature and have regular developments (and hard forks - which annoys the hell out of exchange), but DOGE is stable, fast, cheap to transfer got into the game early, has a lot more history and already a wide adoption rate.

Also, there is no cap on DOGE, meaning it will have more livability, once the other coins are fully mined out (See IXC as an example) - DOGE will still be providing PoW to miners and be worth mining - so long as the adoption curve continues the no-cap will not be an issue.

I saw a post on a website from random google search when there was a craze going on with Japan approving cc. He was claiming it would go to $10 ... $50 in coming years LOL
LOL, that's crazy $50 per DOGE would be way over the GDP of China

I don't see this happening. With all the new alt coins coming out that solve larger problems then Doge did in it's early days... I don't see a lot of market cap being put back into DOGE. Unless the Shiba Inu dog becomes a God in all of Asia...

It's not just about solving problems. It's about use case as well and Doge is being used as a transfer coin between exchanges. That doesn't change easily since there is no other coin that does this better.

I don't understand this. It is used for transfer coin between exchanges? What does that mean and why is there no other coin that can do the same?

DOGE is in a pretty good position - because is is supported by almost all exchanges and has a history of keeping a generally predictable and stable price compared to others - on top of that transfer fees are almost nothing, and transfer speeds are like lightning - that makes DOGE a great transfer medium, better than most if not all others out there. It doesn't mean that others could be better (however they would need to work on number of exchanges). I didn't see a coin with better adoption rates yet though. Additionally, the coin is amazingly stable - no wallet updates required for a very long time - no hard forks etc, meaning that its less work for exchanges to keep the coin updated.

That might be the case for smaller transactions but I don't think that the liquidity is sufficient across all exchanges to call DOGE a superior medium of exchange between exchanges. When we talk about large amounts of DOGE, it is all about liquidity at that point.

True - I agree with you on that. I'd been mostly looking at the availability on the larger exchanges

If developers start burning coins it would be nice. And the price of the coin immediately began to grow. But developers like that do not much worry about the development of the coin in the best direction.

There was a DOGE Etherium coin which was planning to tokenize DOGE within the Ether, which is  effectively similar to burning them - didn't hear much about this recently though - think it was called DOGETH but can't fully remember

Yeah - think the Chinese New Year will spark a bit of momentum for the DOGE so long as the Chinese are able to buy - good for speculation IMO

Doge listed as a base currency for trading other coins on Yobit, I'm surprised there isn't more discussion about this. It is a very good idea because Doge isn't hoarded as much as BTC, which makes it better as a reference to measure the price of other alts. Also, the withdrawal fees are much less, so smaller amounts can be exchanged more easily.

Some say Doge is dead, but what is dead may never die.

Why should they consider burning coins at all? Has that been decided by the community in the past? I can't really remember that.
