The lack of a fixed cap is positive: miners will continue to receive blocks so fees can remain lower.
I personaly think that that absence of cap is more preferable. 10k block reward gives us about 5256kk of reward per year, which is 5.2% inflation a year first year. 20-year calculation looks like this
