Should we Re-Brand Bitcoin?

Bitcoin have a great history and there's no reason to be rebranding because bitcoin have already give an impact to the world and bitcoin also the first product of blockchain technology that could changes the future.

I am fully in support of some of the points raised here especially those that needs to be reviewed and amends. There is a need to create more awareness on the nature of bitcoins as only a digital or virtual coins  that is not physically possible to see. Those who graphically represent bitcoin with a drawing of coins should think otherwise. I also will like the technical input of bitcoin to come to terms with the present reality on the problem of scalability of bitcoin and help to reduce the time of transaction completion. The issue of high cost of transaction charge also should be tackled.

Do you really think that Bitcoin needs re-branding? There's no use in it. The whole world knows what is it and how it works.
Good branding company is useful for some new coins in order to attract more people using an interesting name and eye-catching logo.
Bitcoin is the most powerful coin and will remain like that for a long time. So there's no sense in losing time for inventing something new for it.

There isn't easy to deceive everyone in the present, the media or some expert in economic field will know that. And for me it's useless if we re-branding bitcoin by just changing the name, whilst the characteristics and everything about bitcoin still exists.

I guess every day there will always be someone some media who were said that a company accepts bitcoin or many people jump in and use bitcoin or some media that were said some companies aren't interested in bitcoin, or other negative information that can make a person's trust disappear.

What is the point of re-brand bitcoin? Recently, BTC-e has announced to Twitter followers that they are back in business with a new brand, a new trading platform called Wex. Everything is the same except for the new name, and familiar customers will be happy to see that the 'chat box' is still working. I do not think so. The name above all the other names in the world of electronic money, so why change the name? I guess everyone knows this. I guess what is needed this time is more and more shops and shops and stalls and shopping centers to start accepting Bitcoin.

No way, BTC is the brand itself and it is actually where it price begins. And if it will come to it - who will do the re-branding? Satoshi? I don't that there is such person who can do that actually.

There could be some merit in rebranding Bitcoin- however as others have pointed out the practicalities of so doing mean that it unlikely to happen.
A rebranding exercise could help to push it into the mainstream and remove some of the negative connotations.

I don't think it's necessary, this bitcoin already has a good logo and name, so there's no need to re-brand it for now, what is needed is to increase the use of bitcoin for several payment methods on several platforms.

Bitcoin shouldn’t be rebranded, however new technical features should be added and they should be promoted heavily. Bitcoin brand itself is very recognizable and if it was a company it would have very highly priced goodwill. OP was absurd yet funny at the same time. Bitcoin's name was already established and rebranding it will make more confusion. Why mind the name if it's doing great im the market? Only those shitcoins that didn't succeed did this, just to make a fairly name again.

Well bitcoin is design in such away that any attempt to rebrande it will ditter it from it original form and that is even impossible because no one have access to that, bitcoin at this point don't need any form of rebranding and bitcoin is already doing well at the state which it is. Bitcoin will skale through the present challenges to becoming a global currency which will be widely accepted by all.

In my opinion, it would not be good to re-brand bitcoin. Bitcoin is already a well-known "brand" and stands for crypto currency like no other name. In addition to this, others would then use the name and profit from it and this would be really bad.

Enough scandals with fiat money, nobody cares and everybody uses it.
