What does the counter counting down on i0coin.org exactly for if you are posting the software and documentation at 1500 GMT?
21 hours from now would be after 1500 GMT.
Am I correct in my assumption that you are releasing the software prior to the launch of the network for mining etc?
The reason i ask is because 1500 GMT is not 21 hours from now but more like 11 hours.
Sorry, i forgot to calculate the timezone, please try it again. Done, i modified the code to auto retarget (change difficulty) if two weeks OR 2016 blocks has passed. Will this potentially cause problems due to time differences in nodes? If at the two week time period two blocks are found close together, and one node says it as being less than two weeks, but the other sees it as being more, then they will have a different difficulty calculation. Could result in a chain split? GetAdjustedTime() and the points #5 and #13 here should take care of that but to be secure i'll implement in an upcoming version a sort of NTP check.

Could I0coin also change the frequency of block generation? If blocks are generated every 5 minutes instead of 10 transactions can be completed sooner and the network will appear to move faster. If as we've seen a 10 minute turn into a 30 minute block or even a 60minute block, the network slows to a crawl and it's nearly impossible to trade on it (look at name coins and it's current 1 hour block generation). 5 minute blocks in these cases can't blow out quite as much and it will ensure a smoother network at a little cost to throughput.

Like 48 coins per block (instead of 96), but one block each 5 min (instead of 10)? Sounds nice. Guys, i'll be pushing the launch time a day, i want to release executables to most platforms, integrate this feature into the client and maybe implement the NTP protocol. This is not a get-rich-quick-release-asap fork, I want to do the things right Preliminar source code is available on github: https://github.com/kr105rlz/i0coinI've dropped the source forked from ixcoin and started from scratch using the main bitcoin coide (Yes, wallet encryption included ) I'll keep you updated!

(Yes, wallet encryption included ) This seems risky since I don't think it has gone through any release candidate testing on bitcoin yet. Useful if you want to be the test bed for if it works or not. It'll also delay services based on ixcoin since they'll need to use the mechanisms for accessing/unlocking the wallet.

I like that you are addressing some of the missing features of bitcoin rather than releasing exactly the same code with slight differences.

Yes agree, but remember that the encryption comes disabled by default, so the user has the final word if he want to encrypt his wallet or not. Thats one reason why i pushed the release date a bit, to get more comments and have time to test the new features.

Yes exactly. 5 minute blocks will make a great difference to transaction speed and give I0coins a technical boost over the Bitcoin network, something it needs if it wants to gain traction. Keep up the good work.

I hear, the first exchange will be IXC<=>I0C just a guess (because i don't know the guy) but it'd likely be doublec again... i mean, i can imagine it would only take a few cut+paste to modify his ixcoin exchange.

what was the use of ixcoin? Unlike ixcoin, IOcoin actually addresses some issues with bitcoin, like wallet encryption which we have all been waiting too So this will now be released at 8pm GMT on the 16th? Can you confirm that? long for. well it was just delayed, there are no confirmations in life, but there is a count down for you to watch
