You can buy a hardware purse for cold storage directly from the manufacturer. To generate a purse password and private keys, use a computer that is disconnected from the Internet. Keep the private keys for the hardware purse in a safe place.

The safest way to keep BTC: 1) access wallet with correct web links in case of web wallet; 2) not share info about private key; 3) enable all secure options such as 2fa.

Your advice was really helpful, for me they can prevent hacker or scammer by putting their private setting like private key in myetherwallet or any important things in very safe place, and never share it to any one as long as necessary.

Thank you for telling people who do not know about bitcoin yet. And I also include people who are still learning about the security of bitcoin purses. This thread is a science that I need to keep and bookmark.
Same here I'm just a newbie and do not know much about crypto. My friend influenced me to buy LEDU COIN which when I read their whitepaper it has very promising offer. Can I also put LEDU COIN in those wallets? ONLINE and HARDWARE?

To keep your bitcoin from hackers , do not overexpose your private key in the myetherwallet when making inquire in your wallet , and avoid openning your folder where you put your secret passwords, especially those phising sites that might caught the attention of the hackers.

A must one. We should be responsible on it as it is considered as our belongings. Of course no one wants to end up nothing. Its really difficult to accept that all your efforts and sacrifices was taken by someone who's not deserving for it.

there are also other wallets, for example a paper wallet. It's not the most convenient option, however it gives you the piece of mind and good sleep comparing to online ones

Very nice tips, especially for those, who just entered crypto world. I would also suggest having several wallets just to be more secure, because as you know everything can be hacked.
That is good to have difference wallets that can be use in crypto to invest for the safety of our investment because there many that can hack your account of you only use one to all sites where you do not know how secure it is to put your address. Make hardware wallet where you can put your savings and only amount to invest can stay on the online wallet. For that you can be safe to lose all the amount you have.

Very nice tips to be honest. However, if I were you, I would rather buy a Trezor hardware wallet as it is much safer than relying on online wallets. Even if they are highly reputable, I would not trust them because they can easily be hacked. As for the Trezor and other hardware wallet, I honestly think that they have the capability of being free from any hack as long you do not reveal your private information. Cheers!

This is very helpful and informative, and we should learn how to secure it to protect against hackers. It's important to be careful with online services, or any services designed to store money online. Having a back up on wallet, using strong password, keeping software up to date, and using offline wallet for saving are other considerable ways to keep bitcoin safe.

I agree with the use of hardware wallets. One must use these to be safe from exchange thefts and big investors should always use it.

I use two computers - one offline and one online sitting one by one in my home.

On is old the offline computer which was never seen internet just installed Basic Windows from scratch and installed Armory Bitcoin wallet software and nothing else.

When I want do transactions I restore my wallet from paper seed on the offline computer and I create one  or more offline transaction files which I later use to broadcast transactions on the blockchain.
Then I delete Armory wallet from the Armory software on the offline computer.

On second coputer which is always connected to internet and fully synced with Botcoin Core client ( so I run a full node ) I have Another Armory wallet but it is watch-only copy of the same wallet  it does not have any private keys at all.

On that live computer with watch-only wallet I broadcast previously created transaction files produced on off-line computer.

The seed I do not keep at same location as the two computers- actually thee seed keys I do not keep in my home at all!
