Many people wants Ethereum than Bitcoin because Ethereum platform is much more advanced as compared to Bitcoin, its owners have the unique ability to create "smart contracts" and there are many other functionalities on this open-source, public, blockchain-based distributed computing platform, which already provided Ethereum quick and impressive growth

Ethereum definitely could become something like CORE in this crpyto world because of its feature and many of ICOs starter used it as basic platform for theirs ICOs. Either than that, i personally think that bitcoin people kinda already saturated with its prices.

That is one reason but another reason is that some people actually believe that ethereum is a better coin thanks to its main characteristic that is to make smart contracts, but smart contracts are not only a characteristic of ethereum, but in my opinion the characteristic that really limits ethereum is the fact there is not a limit to the coins like what happens in bitcoin where there is a limit of 21 million coins.

There are always elitists that call all coins besides btc shitcoins and their favorite target is eth.

Eth is more than just a coin, it is an entire ecosystem of smart contracts, businesses, and interconnectivity.
It has active development on it and continues to improve.
The actual use case of eth becomes a pain as the network gets congested, but plasma cash will help things immensely.

For me, personally, I would rather have three or four coins as the top coins who have similar market weights.
I don't think it's healthy to have just one that dominates.

Back in the Apple Heyday, iphones dominated the cell phone market.
Now that it has become distributed more, it is forcing all companies to push the boundaries of their tech and price costs even lower.
We all benefit in the end.

Yes, basically they want to look for bigger profits, and ethereum has potential for it. The ethereum community is getting more and more with many projects using it, so it has the potential to rise and give big profits to investors.

The answer is simple the current price of Eth is so cheap compared to bitcoin, this is why many people got a hold of them in quantity.
