What is the current state of the Project?

In the beginning they said in late April the Units will be hashing.
What happened? Any Units ready now? Final specs known?

Cheers

After reading through this thread, I still dont understand the share system.
So if I go and purchase a single share of XFH would I be purchasing the lowest mining rig? Or would I be purchasing a 5% share of this profit.
It is very unclear on the website, and havent been able to find a straight answer.

Share of the profit, the site and other things are being clarified on the litecoin forum far more often. But we are wrapping up contractual obligations and bugs found during beta testing. I know the wait is hard, but we can do it people Cheesy

The thing is we've to go through a lot of pages if we want to find some news. Isn't it an idea that you (or someone else who's really active on the Litecoinforum) posts some updates here? That would make it a lot easier for me, and probably for many more Wink.

It appears that not all updates are listed in the OP at the Litecoin forum, so we've to read through all the pages to find some updates. Smiley

Edit: an update I just found: It appears that someone is working on a system to make it possible for the investors to sell / exchange their pre-orders.

Status as of Today to my best Knowledge is:

a) still on Track for August Delivery
b) Exchange for XMH Share still in Beta no Timeline to Release since Security has to be "Bullet Proof" according to Jasin
c) if you want to sell your XMH Share right now, you can do that with the Help of Carnth who is Escrow for that in Litecoin Forum
d) 1 XMH Share is aboute 14 Mh/s

Alright, I missed D, so thanks!

I've got something to add:
*If you want to sell your pre-order, there's a specific topic created on the Litecoin forums for that.
*People can get a refund if they like, but if you paid with CACHEcoin, you will receive the same amount of CACHEcoin as you paid.

I have dealt with contractors from India just like this, take a job they cannot finish or even understand. Turn in code that makes no sense and is no where close to the guidelines set forth. Then getting mad when you tell them the work isnt correct and you will not pay them for it.

Hope you're not talking about fib...

It was in a different thread, relating to coin codebase. Fibonacci deals with hardware and an exchange, and as discussed before is german engineering not indian.

Ok, that's fair enough. Just a few questions;

Any update on when the exchange goes live? beta was tested almost a month ago if I don't mistake.

Also, regarding tape out, you mentioned that:
We should know by mid June some firmer dates.
Is this still on? are you going to disclose some sort of timeline?

Finally, regarding hosting, if I understand correctly a client can control his hosted miner via proxy.
Who is coding for this? moustache? has it been done?

Thanks

Exchange timeline is not firm, we are ensuring security above all else. That was the first beta test, we are running more even now, partly for performance and partly for further debug.

We will be disclosing a timeline for the ASIC soon, that was what was referenced in that quote.

Hosting via proxy is correct, moustache wrote the base code, other team members took over from there and it is nearly finished.

Can anyone give us an update about this project? Or a summary of the lasts pages of the topic on Litecointalk?

I'm way too busy to checkk that topic over there daily, and most of the posts inside aren't really informative. Mostly from people expressing their view..

I just fastly read through the last pages, but couldn't find any update.. As it's already the sixth of July we should really have more updates by now.

Anyone know whats really going on with Fib? I've been following this thread this Dec of last year, its been quite some time...

I thought they already had all the specs figured out while others were still figuring things out. Zoom passed 7-8 months, and still no news of chips or anything else for that matter... whats the deal? Weren't they supposed to have these great scrypt miners out by Mid-July to early Aug? We're already in Mid-July, and there's no updates on anything. I know there's a litecoin thread, but who can read through hundreds of pages of mostly banter?

To my knowledge, from having worked on numerous VLSI/ASIC projects (and thus knowing the development process and realities of getting from idea to trays of packaged dies on your desk), and from looking at the thread over on litecointalk and jasinlee's comments about where they're at..  I don't believe they have actually finished the design and taped it out for a prototype run yet, which would need to happen before they even know if the design works.  Let alone scheduled production quantities with a fab after verifying the prototype functions and performs as expected, which is generally a long lead-time proposition.

That's my viewpoint from having undertaken scrypt ASIC development late last year.  Only we spun our own ASICs for our own mining operation, not to sell to others.  The oft-repeated "the merchants get rich off the miners backs" analogy is applicable to gold mining in the 1800's.  In the context of cryptocurrency mining, that's just silly.  The ones that actually won are the ones that got there first while difficulty was still nice and low.

I agree, no company would choose to keep tape out a secret. Since Fibonacci has not announced tape out, delivery would be at best sometime in Q4, could be Q1 2015.

Let's hope that isn't going to be reality. Allthough Jasinlee keeps increasing the hashrate of their products earlier, for example a 10 Mh/s won't be worth much anymore in Q1 of 2015.. It might need to be increased to 100 Mh/s or 250 MH/s.. and that is going to bring problems with it for sure.

Let's all pray for a early delivery.

It seems this thread wasn't updated with information Jasin just released to us in the Litecoin forums.
https://litecointalk.org/index.php?topic=2702.msg195062#msg195062

We are in process of removing a developer who decided to go awol, so bear with us while we transition. Moustache apparently thought he should not have to finish his work and decided to take off and not tell anyone. Since he is obviously not following direction he is being given I am posting here to let people know we are serious about team members that decide to change their aim from helping the project to self interests. As some noted before we were not getting responses from him on the forum or to tickets, or getting the exchange up in a timely manner. I wish I could have informed everyone of this earlier, but I needed to be sure of his intentions before removing him from the project as he had up until recently been an asset and a friend and we were unsure of if he was being malicious. As some may realize, replacing a lead developer is not a simple overnight task. So while Thibaud Fabre (moustache - he no longer deserves the anonymity he so desired) is working toward his own goals, we have continued work on the exchange and are nearing completion sans moustache. We are still meeting with various entities to get the MSB in place for the exchange. The delays on the refunds were also due to his non-responses, we will continue refunds that he apparently stopped sending when he sends the coins over. We are attempting to retrieve all the coins from him now, if he does not send them all back then we will be pursuing him on several fronts.

I sincerely apologize that I could not disclose all of this sooner, I felt it best to secure the coins we could before informing everyone publicly and potentially spooking him. We have replaced him and continued our work. Needless to say we feel betrayed by his breaking of trust and we are going to keep working toward completing all the projects. I realize people think we are running away from the project, but this is not the case and will be here still working on the projects. We will be wiping out the VPS that is currently holding the site and migrating to one he does not have access to, so the site will go down for a while and we will put up a placeholder until we relaunch the site. We do have the full database and no information will be lost. And no matter the outcome, the users who made purchases will receive refunds/miners/profits for their involvement in the project even if it takes longer than expected. The projects do run independently so we do not have them impacting each other.

As of yet, we know very little else. He mentioned this in another thread in these forums, just not here yet it seems.
