Probably not but that all depends on the specific campaign. Most won't accept a Copper member merely based on that rank as it's the signature size they're interested in which comes with higher ranks. As I know, there were few bounties, signature campaigns that accept Copper members with the same rates for Members. Newbies with Copper membership can join and enjoy the same rate. You are right that it is not too popular and also campaigns that accept Member ranks are very little.

Achieve ranks also help to increase knowledge then quality of posts that are helpful to be competitive when apply in good campaigns.

To achieve a higher rank you need a combination of merits and activity points. You get activity points just by posting, but that wont be enough to rank up. Other users have to like your posts and merit them for you to rank up. That means, you need to contribute merit-worthy posts. No thread can help you with that. If you have no interest or knowledge about bitcoin, you will find it difficult to rank up. Browse around the forum and check what kind of posts get merited. Learn about bitcoin and share your knowledge by taking part in discussions and helping others.

It's not going to help you get into signature campaigns. It will remove the 2 PMs per day rule for newbies. You don't have to wait as much between writing two posts as newbie members. And you can post images that will be visible to others on the forum.

Copper Membership is just like an automatic whitelisting of your account to decrease some of the limits a newbie has, but does come along with a few perks but nothing sufficient enough to join a decent paying campaign.

This is BitcoinTalk, not EthereumTalk or LitecoinTalk. I don't support adding alt currencies for donations or memberships.

And seeing that Ethereum has even higher fees than Bitcoin, adding ETH/USDT (an ERC-20 token) makes no sense.

If you don't wanna pay $5-$10 in fees you could wait for the weekend and make the purchase then. Right at this moment, you would be paying 26 sat/vB for a high priority transaction, which if your transaction has only one input comes out to about $1.74. I wouldn't call that expensive.

Although I feel it would be beneficial in the long run to add support for Lightning network, seeing as how SMF works (and runs on PHP), I don't think it would be a trivial task to integrate LN here.

No one or limited people believed that a person will spend 10 BTC to donate in 2017 but Claymore did it. Bitcoin was closed at $1222.05 on 20 April 2017.
10 BTC costs $12,220.5 and it was spent by Claymore.

Claymore is the last donator.

In addition to Evilish's comment, you can always purchase with a low fee ^{[if TX fees are high]}. No need to wait since there's no time window when it comes to counting such payments as valid here + you can always accelerate those TXs with some of the pools that offer such services for free ^{[ViaBTC and Antpool]}.

You're absolutely right but there are a lot of Bitcoin millionaires (mostly early adpoters) who can still donate 10BTC to the forum but it rare though for them to do the donation. Wait a minute, the donation is even enough to participate and pay a maintenance cost in the build a seastead which was once introduced by Theymos.

On one hand I would have joined that bounty because of a donator being bounty manager, on the other hand I would not do it (and I did not join after all), because it was not clear when rewards will be paid.

No, not really. being a donator/VIP just means that you donated to the forum and it doesn't mean you are a reliable/reputable/trusted person.

While I somewhat agree that the amount should be reduced, at the same time, there's gonna be a lot of resistance from the seniors here claiming that it's not about gaining the title, but rather preserving the novelty (back then when BTC was somewhat more affordable).

I reckon other memberships might not actually serve any additional purpose for now, since Copper unlocks the Full Member privileges, which are pretty much sufficient for an average member, unless we're talking about no-ads or accessing a premium lounge.

I don't see the point of being VIP, Donator or Copper member.
The first two status are old, not frequent to see them (only few members are active) and might be abused (no longer remember if they can change names or not).
Copper member is interesting mostly for new members here.
I prefer to see a bunch of profiles/custom names like: miner, trader, hodler... rather than being called donator that I obtained when the forums no longer need donations, and surely not having a mineral membership especially not copper.

Elon Musk would, someone mention it to him.   Surely he appreciates the foundations of what he has come to appreciate.   I think it was the bug section or submit thread where the amounts were linked to gold rather then BTC exactly, which has also risen but is far more level over time as its supposed to be in theory.

It would gain him more in free advertising then it costs his company to allocate, its probably tax deductible or some similar accountable balance.    I could imagine less likely things occurring, seriously he should but Im really lost on how serious Elon Musk is or what his strategy is with Bitcoin especially, maybe he just wanted to hedge the dollar.   He hosted meme review one time  , he is a living legend but also an engima so I say never say never.
