Thats too much to get some unnecessary features.

Those $41,000 worth of bitcoins can be used to rent a house for a few months, buy a car, etc.

The forum owner doesn't require anymore Bitcoin and therefore isn't going to lower it. Because, other donators who donated 10 Bitcoin will be mad.
Make sure you back up your wallet regularly! Unlike a bank account, nobody can help you if you lose access to your BTC.

There is now a forum section accessible only to donators/VIPs.

Link?

He means that there's no Donator/VIP only section, instead it's Donator/VIP/Staff.

To quote Theymos, the forum does not need any more money.

Explain this then:

It is less than the High Society of the Friends of Malla Grandfather status.

HIM TVA Dragon, AOK-GM, Emperor of the Earth, Creator of the World, King of Crypto Kingdom, Lord of Malla, AOD-GEN, SA-GEN5, Ministry of Plenty (Join NOW!), Professor of Economics and Theology, Ph.D, AM, Chairman, Treasurer, Founder, CEO, 3*MG-2, 82*OHK, NKP, WTF, FFF, etc(x3)

I already asked to Theymos and the answer is no. They are short on the new forum software budget.

Perhaps they should lower VIP price then. I'm not forking over more than a year's gross salary. I would however cough up a meal's worth.

^You're not VIP material.  There are no shortcuts to becoming a VIP.
Prestige and honor are not handed out willy-nilly, young man.
They must be bought.

That's fine with me, I'm not paying 5,670.30 to 28,351.50 USD to a website for "Donator" or "VIP" on my posts.

The amount "10 BTC" is set in Aug 2011 (you can see on page 1 that this thread was created on August 19, 2011, 08:29:22 AM).

But, theymos has mentioned several times that he has no intention to change the threshold.

but i bet when they were donated they were not worth as much as they are know so should at least be lowered to the level it was at before or value i meant

But the 10btc will always be worth 10btc and that's the price it is to donate. I think maybe some other donator ranks could be implemented, but it's not essential. I don't think people would want to donate big accounts now just incase bitcoin rises again lol.
