We need a miracle for this price to happen. Interesting headline, and thread is so old that if you see where are we after this time, it will be hard to get to 50k with this speed. I`m not saying its impossible for bitcoin to worth so much "one day", like for 50 years, maybe 100, if bitcoin survive until that time.
Who knows what can happen with bitcoin for 10 years? We just can try to predict and guess the future, bitcoin have opportunity to make some changes in world, and with that changes price can go very high. Its how we think when we feel optimistic, I have pessimistic moments also. Its gambling, if there is a chance for 50k, then is a chance for 1 dollar as well.

Yeah its an unrealistic value to dream off, I don't think bitcoin has that high potential that it can ever touch the price of $50k, maximum it can go to $10k not more then that.

We also have to look at 50% dump on price before rather than just looking at 50% rise every year. I am sure bitcoin will never reach 50k because total supply after all bitcoin got mine is also in bigger amount (in millions) and total market of online payment processor is like in few billion annualy so we may see 3k to 5k$ per coin, which is quite realistic figure.

In the next 5 to 10 years, the price could double every year, but after that, the price will rise much slower.

I also want to value of the Bitcoin to reach $50,000 but I do not think that I will be around for that long, I would sell all my Bitcoin if the price was at $10,000.
I am not patient enough to wait for $50,000 so I would be happy with taking less money.

Not likely, the bitcoin price is really hard to reach the target of 50k for each bitcoin, for the moment is a dream for us if bitcoin reaches 1k or 2k USD so I doubt that for this decade bitcoin will reach 50k.

We can't know if where the price of bitcoin can go in coming time maybe after some 50 to 60 years, but for now as you said we would be really lucky if we could reach atleast 2k to 5k near future, that value would be a lot for us too.

On what facts or theories do you base this conclusion on inflation? This is a huge price and it will not happen over night just like that. Can you explain a bit more?

I do not think the big inflation will happen soon. The inflation is very low at the moment. A 1% interest rise will reduce the inflation rate.

OP, how can you confirm that you wont die until bitcoin reaches atleast 50k, their is no guarantee of anyones life about next second what will happen. and you wanted to see the price minimum to 50k which is i dont think is possible until some major issues happen to fiat currency so that full world shift from fiat currency to bitcoin.

That is right. But we are still in the lower part of the S curve. The price rise will accelerate in the next few years.

All I can say is, good luck. Bitcoin is pretty much stagnating at the $500-600 range. At most, it could be worth around $10k within a couple of decades from now

The OP was last active on June 24, 2016, more than two months ago. It seems that he doesn't expect the price to reach $50K any time soon himself and switched into hibernation mode till there is a reason for showing up again...

To get realistic you should first explain to us how and when (if ever) the Bitcoin user base gets expanded to 100 million users worldwide. The majority of population in developed countries live on credit. It means that they don't save up anything and are tightly tied to fiat and their credit cards. The rest of world population doesn't live on credit simply because they can't get any credit at all (which doesn't mean that they wouldn't if given an opportunity). People in general are spenders, not savers...

The conclusion is that you can safely forget about 100M Bitcoin users for the foreseeable future

You are right. most of us will not be strong when looking at the price of $1k to sell immediately. I look when in 2013, when the price reaches over $1000 and the price did not last long. then slowly down.
to be honest, I myself will sell all my bitcoin when the price reaches $1k, no matter it is going up, but I'm sure it will be decreased.
like this year, the highest price reached $750 and it did not last long and then come down and until now difficult to reach the back

You are right that bitcoin price is really hard to reach 50K , but sometime i thinking that it can be possible that bitcoin price reach to 50k if bitcoin adoption more increase and everyone start to use bitcoin than their currency.
