Fedora-Tips website (Beta)

Internet Explorer is not properly displaying the font styles. Will fix it tonight.
Ok on Chrome.

As promised here's my rebranding proposal. I strongly think that the clean, classy and scrollable design is the way to go.
Please note this is still a BETA, and that more promotional projects will come for TIPS.

- Smartphone display will be fixed soon. The site is now displaying good on laptop and tablet PC.
- Missing links such as the Fedora payment implementation will be added asap.
- Chinese and french translation will be set up very quickly this week-end. Anyone willing to help please send me your translation in your own langage (may be spanish, german, and more)
- Working on a classy 3D animation
- Minor details such as buttons color need to be worked on. This can still be more refined.

Hi

    1) When you open the page, you can see the logo, the website address and the links toward, I suppose (because it's not clearly stated), the wallets.

If that is not clear enough, I'll look for adding a "download" mention.

I think you should add a catchphrase or a little something to sum up what TiPS is about.

Yes. "The internet payment system" is the line below "TIPS". I'm open to any other acronyms.

We also should have a top screen bar with several tabs in order to have an easy access to all the sub-sections.

I think we need the most synthetic form of design and informations. The visitor should not feel overwhelmed.

    2) The logo is not the one accepted by the majority here, as far as I know.

The HAT logo is a nice image. But not suitable as a brand IMHO.
You cannot ignore the fact that epured, stylistic logos, are the dominant model for a vast majority of societies today.
Sticking with the original Ê would respect the developpers vision as well.

The best is not what I like, nor what you like, the best is what suits the better for the market. People on this thread aren't really representative of the society. I think this is a mistake.

    3) There is a bit too much space given to images. But then again it's a beta and I can understand you didn't have time to write down all the texts needed.

The logo image might be resized. It looks great on tablet PC but it may be huge on laptop. True.

    4) Talking about the illustrations, they are in my opinion a bit too bling bling.
TiPS was originally designed for tipping. And even if we all agree we need to go further, we still aim to create a virtual currency for daily uses.

This is the most important. It is called market positionning.

TIPS is polyvalent. Suitable for daily use, but don't forget TIPS is still meant to be a classy coin. We can play on both fields.
A classy hotel Lobby. Some nice presents. This is what most consumers likes or dream about.

You do not seem to realize that rich consumers alone are a whole market on their own. Luxury sector got more than 20% growth over the last few years. There is a lot of rich people.
I guarantee you'd fall of your chair knowing how much money is spent in all kind of goods of upper value in China. The japanese being probably the second.

TIPS is polyvalent. I used a waitress as first photo, but I should add one more image of "regular people". I agree. TIPS have 500 billions total coins, not 50 mil.

Finally, it seems that this was the devs vision as well, I plainly agree we should focus on profesionalization, and targetting the masses.

I'm also not fond of the big fat logos of Facebook, LinkedIn, Google+ and so on. First because TiPS don't have an account in all these social networks.

Website is here to reflect our market position. Not currently having tipping solutions for those platforms is not a problem. We will have those features soon (I hope so).

Third because I think we should just put smaller icons in a "Join the community" or "Join us" or whatever section.

Yes, that would be better. A complete presentation of the differents web tipping functions would be great, I could do it as soon as those tools are available.

    5) The webpage displays on only half of my screen, surrounded by two big white stripes both in IE and Chrome.

Need to fix the fluid tag content in DW

To conclude, thanks for all the hard work. These are just my opinions.

Thanks for your feedback. Always positive.

If you like, you can also check my LEAF rebranding proposal.
Here : http://www.silver47.eu/indexleaf.html

I also hope that Invisibel will soon have a word to say about it.

Thanks for taking time to explain your point. I'm glad my comments weren't useless ;-)

Good luck for your work.

The real invisible was coding the mixing functionality, you can see this back in the thread. I followed the scammers instructions for fun with 100 tips just to prove it was a scam and prove to everyone not to fall for it. I can afford 100 tips to do this, so was not problem to loose them to prove it it was a scam

No, don't work on a youtube tip.

Work on a tip videos, a competitor against youtube.

Youtube and Google needs to die, already.

I totally agree with you. Crypto currency should create something that will rival youtube.

Msg me if you want me to put anything here.

Invisibel came here two or three times yesterday to fight for his identity :-)
He should make an announcement soon, when he would catch up with everything we said during the past week.

But sadly he is  the only dev making regular visits here on bitcointalk. But all the team is regularily on Reddit and always on IRC

For a Summary of the current TIPS project please read the prior four ( 4 ) posts ..

Speaking for myself, I know it's easy to get frustrated with the seeming lack
of progress when operating on "internet time"; forgetting that people have lives
and obligations outside the narrow focus of these threads and trying to reconcile that
with the community's voracious appetite to see meaningful results on a near continuous basis ..

That said .. after rereading this entire thread ..
I feel we've made considerable progress towards reaching a concensus
with regards to the future direction and implementation of TIPS ..

Triff ..

Actually I believe this logo has been tossed out so to speak, in favor of a more simple approach. This logo ends up as nothing when it gets smaller. There are a few posts regarding this Smiley
