Counterparty's big advantage is that it utilizes the security of the Bitcoin blockchain to secure its blockchain, making a 51% attack very difficult. But it's scalability is also affected by the same difficulties as Bitcoin and I think the cons outweigh the pros.
This is a huge simplification of Counterparty but do others here agree with me?
XCP needs to expand chain list.
Focused only on the BTC chain is silly and TX cost too much.
Very little program code is required to at least include the copy sha56d chains.
E.g.
Name UNO SYS XMY
The code base is the same. Even including LTC or x11 chains should be easy too.
This would allow for a range of asset classes.
File you land titles on BTC chain.
Trade pepes on the SYS chain.
This means assets would remain on the BTC chain, listing BTC assets would still be an option, but at least other (reliable high hashed) chains could be added to the mix for cheaper TX/send options.
