Is there any difference with Mastercoin, besides the burning approach?
Are you all invested in both?

Are there any plans for how we are going to market XCP after the burn period?
Or are the features going to be marketing themselves? I am trying to see how XCP will be competing against MSC for this portion of the market. As well as predicting future price appreciation for XCP.
I think i read somewhere that price is 0.01BTC/XPC. I seen the other day someone else posted 0.01BTC/XCP Decentralize Trustless Peer2Peer Innovation is a growing popularity. BTCitcoin 2.0It's impossible 0.01BTC/XCP! I think it will get 0.001BTC/XCP for now.

The main difference is that, right now, XCP has working features while MSC does not. Mastercoin Distributed Exchanges will go live on March 15, but its still only the exchange. The features will probably be in April or so. Whereas, XCP has all of this working now. Also, investors of MSC paid to a address which was controlled by its founder, whereas XCP uses a address noone controls. But my main question still remains, is there a marketing plan in place for after the burn period? We need to get people using this protocol.

MasterCoin has a price around 80$, XCP is around 1$. (Even if you compare marketcaps instead, it is still a lot cheaper for a working product).

maybe we should wait with price evaluation after burning is over. what we now have is a (highly) functional but still user-unfriendly protocol - I have some ideas regarding marketing, anyway maybe we should for a day longer

The main difference is that MSC has alot of money for marketing and dev. work, but XCP has more room to grow

The beginning price will be significant. So I suggest a good price, since its the first worldwide dist.exchange!
Maybe around 0.01 for start?

I think i read somewhere that price is 0.01BTC/XPC.
That was a 3rd party seller, which is selling XCP at that price. But mainly, how are we going to increase the demand in this coin? I have alot of marketing skills behind my belt, I can help. I am trying to get something from the devs on how we will create the demand/Market XCP after burn period is over to see price appreciation. I mean, who would not like to see your marketing skills at work? The question is how can an incentive/funding structure be set up to support the project (development, marketing) long term. A have a few questions: Is there an agreement within this community that it makes sense to acquire funds for marketing / further development? Are the features stated in the OP actually working / tested already? What does it take to make them user friendly?

I believe brite_enclave is working on that

I would like to hear what the devs have to say about plans after burn period, and how we will get people to use Counterparty.

I would like to hear what the devs have to say about plans after burn period, and how we will get people to use Counterparty.
Regarding community coordination and outreach efforts, we are currently working through some options internally and should have an update shortly. We are considering multiple angles, with the overall priority around keeping Counterparty's current open structure while keeping representation of the effort consistent, fair and honest, which are the principles Counterparty was developed around. We have no desire to try to build some large, monolithic and inefficient organization that tries to manage and control everything, but we recognize that some structure may be necessary. Stay tuned.

The devs have built the mousetrap and the world wants it. Patel and wizzardTim, if you have ideas, why don't you share them and tell us what you think we must do? let us activate this community into action today. If anyone has recommendations or ideas they want me to execute, let me know and I will get going and try them out.

Yeah I did have some ideas:
1. Lets get the bets rolling. Maybe a Superbowl bet would be good, if its not too late.
2. Getting a video commercial type gig like what Colored Coins has.
I don't have many ideas right now but I will brainstorm on it.
I believe the bet and broadcast commands still need to be published.

The bet and broadcast commands are working. To try them out, start with ' countertparty bet --help' and ' counterparty broadcast --help'. If you need help using them, I'd be glad to lend a hand. You might also check out the Counterparty protocol specification, which is out of date, but not terribly so.

What a great idea! Let me know when you have it setup and I'll post something on Reddit about Counterparty allowing you to P2P bet on the Super bowl with XCP. Video Commercial will require some type of bounty and budget since we'll need a professional, but what do you think would make a good budget? $3K for a video? We start with these and we have publicity.
