waiting for new generation BFG

BFG2 doesn't work well with some ASIC devices

try:

use 2nd gen bfgminer with "--http-port 1234" optrion: eg:
bfgminer.exe --http-port 1234 -o ibipot.com:3333 -u user.work -p 1

then use regular bitcoin mining software for your asic, eg:
cgminer -o 127.0.0.1:1234 -u bla.bla -p bla

this way you might get better result with some hardware

I think that network hash rate is calculated through DIFFICULTY and BLOCK GENERATION SPEED.
so it's impossible that a "bad" config influence network hashrate.

Bitcoin Example:
Quote
expected_blocks = 144
difficulty = 11187257.461361 # this is on May 22nd 2013
blocks_found = 155 # Also May 22nd 2013
hash_rate = (blocks_found/expected_blocks*difficulty * 2**32 / 600)

MED example:
Quote
HASHRATE = DIFF * 2^32 / BLOCKTIME

HASHRATE = (100000 * 2**32) / 60
HASHRATE = 7,1582788 * 10^12 = 7,15 THS

ok, Last 24 Hours   , ibipot has found 1188 valid block out of 24*60=1440 ? that is 82,5 %

according to formula above ibipot pool hash should be: (1188/1440*102449 * 2**32) / 60 = 6.05 THS
ok, I'b fine with that, I could revise that php-mpos formula, but when I do this, pool will also report, that single BE will do 1.8GHS ? width that I'm not fine.. because my bfgminer will show 309 MHS... I'm bit confused.. scrypt will not add that much hashrate...

Another thing is pool luck.. but this is unreal that ibipot luck is so good all the time...

dev's what are your thoughts?

Funny enough...this worked...I think...Kind of...By using bfgminer as a proxy and a normal Antminer supported cgminer to hash with, the cgminer is showing improved hash rates (about 600 kh/s better)...but the Proxy hash rate shown on bfgminer is only about 200kh/s and the hashrate on the Pool is again different. The cgminer shows alot more accepted than the bfgminer. Which is correct?

This setup is Worker2

I'd say nothing to complain here.. I'm satisfied with that.. and host Mac CPU has still resources available for everyday job..

rfe3, what is your CPU usage? maybe that is bottleneck for you. MED uses CPU also not ASIC only.

My CPU usage is about 40% using bfgminer v2 with the built in Proxy and about the same using bfgminer as a Proxy and cgminer as Hasher(as pictured in my last post). If I try to use mcproxy+stratumproxy+bfg or cgminer the CPU usage rockets to 100% and the Hashrate is very low, after 15 min. the laptop will overheat and shutdown. I don't even have to start the miners, as soon as the mcproxy+stratumproxy startrunning the CPU usage goes to 100%

I think you are the No. 1 holder of MED, do you wanna get the best profit without working to promo MED? Are you a freeloader?

Like a month ago I suggested to dev to at least add checkpoint at some blockheight, he agreed but obviously no new client was released afterwards.

Coin control maybe?

Logo competition maybe?

More votes at MintPal maybe? https://www.mintpal.com/voting

theres nothing here. message me if you want to put something here.

where is the MED bfgminer for MAC?

it's easy, for start do this:
1) Launch Terminal.app from Spotlight or your Applications folder
2) Install Homebrew by entering the following in the command prompt:
Code:
ruby -e "$(curl -fsSL https://raw.github.com/mxcl/homebrew/go/install)"
3) Run the following command and then fix any reported issues:
Code:
brew doctor
4) Tap the following Homebrew repository so that you can install packages from it:
Code:
brew tap nwoolls/xgminer
5) download source:
Code:
git clone https://github.com/mrtexaznl/bfgminer
cd bfgminer/
6) compile
Code:
./autogen.sh
./configure
./make-release
sudo make

voila, run for antminer:
Code:
./bfgminer -o ibipot.com:3333 -u user.pass -p 1 -S antminer:all

would you be interested to buy Antminer U2 devices for MED's? Today I ran out of stock Antminer 1U's. I'm thinking to buy some more new models and sell for MED's (this is my way of promoting MED, I'm not on dev team, just a MEd fan Smiley )

Also what about the possibility of some larger miners? Im running the hex16a2's with good results and would certainly like some more.

taking that in mind.

Hello, complete noob here.  This is my first time trying to mine anything and I am running across two problems.

First, when installing bfgminer as per instructions from mediterraneancoin.org I get the error: "'java' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file." when trying to run the mcproxy from the command prompt.  I have the latest versions of Java and the JDK installed.
EDIT: Nevermind, got it!  Needed to add java to %PATH%.

The second issue is if I do try to run bfgminer anyways my keyboard stops working and my mouse is all screwed up.  I can no longer highlight things or right click until I restart the computer.  This is on windows 7.

Any suggestions?
Thanks!
Hey, welcome to the MED world. First, what kind of mining hardware are you using? Also, which version of BFGminer?

Whelp, this is embarrassing.  Apparently I have reading comprehension issues and thought these were mined with just cpu power, didn't realized I needed block erupters lol.  Nevermind me....

Hi all,
just added on github the port for MediterraneanCoin of a Wordpress plugin:

https://github.com/mrtexaznl/wordpress-mediterraneancoin-shortcode

This Wordpress plugin provids a shortcode for showing links to Mediterraneancoin addresses
which can for example be used as a donation address.

Example shortcode:
[mediterraneancoin address="MeGbEre5ZyD3ug946sPuq5C6yy8ZPriwhf"]

The shortcode will insert a small button that links to the Mediterraneancoin address. When
the mouse is hovered over the button a QR code representing the address is shown.

The forthcoming Android app for MediterraneanCoin supports QR code....
