I think you need a working nodes to fully sync your wallet again.

You could buy one at bitnodes, bu they will need one working node to synch with.

I just tried that wallet and is working fine for me, get synced with no problem and got few connections. As I see chain is healthy got around 911MB right now, and is moving constantly. Looks like all is fine with this coin, but would be great to have some website and explorer online for it.
