I also notice that too, I've been watching the block explorer for the past few weeks and the amount of SMC is increasing extremely fast. Making it 2-3 months wouldn't hurt. It would help push SMC value up. As reward halves sooner, amount of SMC mined starts to slow demand and being that its harder to mine, people will just buy SMC as its cheaper and hence pushing the value up making mining profitable again.

A block halving would not mean a price increase, if not, definitely not as fast as you may expect. What you can instantly expect is a huge drop in hash rate and the difficulty, making it extremely easy to perform blockchain attacks and other malicious things. Desperately halving the block rewards will only show how impatient and incapable we are in raising the price naturally.

Despite this, I'm still open to a vote.

You do make a good point, I've notice theres way too much SMC being generated in a short time.

Another way around this, instead of changing the block reward and halving maybe change the block time from 40 seconds to 2 minutes or somewhere you think would be suitable?

What about gradually stepping down the reduction in block rewards? Say 2/3 as opposed to halving it? That way miners might not flee so fast and the difficulty might remain more stable?

I am regular visitor on this site + thread, and loyal Smc miner/bag holder.. Also i consider my self a doer/thinker and i understand that to make this thang alive Smc community should bring something to the table. I personally miss the experience where smc was worth    0.0003 Btc or 0.04 USD.      Each and every one of us should show a little support in order for our Dev and our time dedicated to Smc to work out in the long run. So here i am i can offer two things I have two top class Dj`s holding residencies in (location UK-untitled) (non geeks) on board here. So i believe i could get them to list music samples under 1 min and sell full top class remixes at best quality available for small profit. That is no.1
