don't see why windows is the problem, alot are runing windows on their rigs
Winblows OS/drivers are smarter than you. Didn't you know that? Do you have a dummy plug or video cable plugged in?
Edit: Also do you mean an actual PCI slot or PCI-E?
Yes tried hdmi,db-15 and dummy. And yes Actual PCI slot. I'll post how when I get it sorted. What's up dude, I don't know if this helps with your problem but in PCI-E slot and with R9 290's I don't need any dummy plugs. Just install MSI Afterburner and turn off the card power saving mode ( I don't remember the name ) it's in the Afterburner settings. Save settings, restart computer and then the cards don't go off. I have also turned off the Crossfire mode in the Catalyst Control Center. edit. "Disable ULPS" is the power saving mode for the cards http://i1-win.softpedia-static.com/screenshots/MSI-Afterburner_9.png?1388734118Thx man. No Pci-e issues though. right now I'm running on 4 modified 1x extension cables on a 939 dfi lanparty. It only has 2 16x 1 1x and 1 4x pci-e lane though so I'm trying to use the pci slots as well. after that I may se about splitting the pci-e lanes but from my research there is only 1 passive adapter board and it may be board specific. The cost of active lane splitting is prohibitive compared to board replacement. I've modded the card bioses to .968v and after getting all this up and running I have a few idea's about lowering that as well. I'll give the disable ulps option a shot and remove the resistors and check to see if it works while I'm at it on the r9-270's. Okay sounds good I don't have any experience playing around with other than 16x pci-e slots. I've only read that the 1x pci-e slots might not have enough power to support the 290's so I need powered risers if I ever going to use them on my rigs or otherwise I might fry my mobos. I have 3 pci-e 16x slot support on each of my rigs so that's enough for me. You should really try out disabling the ULPS, it was key thing on my rigs when my cards were turning off. I read about it from somewhere here few months ago when I started to mine. Here's some explanation of the ULPS http://forums.guru3d.com/showthread.php?t=361702As you can see you don't need the Afterburner itself if you want to make some regedit "(run: regedit) and search for "EnableUlps" and set it to "0"."

No option in Afterburner for some reason. The option is there on my main system. I'll edit it in the reg when I get up again. but It should nopt have an effect as I'm not having a power down issue. But it can't hurt to disable it either so thx for pointing that out. Guru3d has always been a favorite site of mine. I haven't signed on in years and just checked. here's the last time I logged in there. You last visited: 09-28-2009 at 13:03 LOL

Can I suggest something? If we choose to hard fork in order to make block halving, why not use this chance in order to switch to an anti asic algorithm? like scrypt n or jane? Please reply for this I think this is a great idea with all those upcoming asics, soon many miners will leave the regular scrypt coins in my opinion. Scrypt was made in order to resist asics, just a reminder UP! I want ROFO to read it

remember asics are not neccesairily a bad thing. they help secure the blockchain and make it harder to do a 51% attack.
Asics are not a bad thing. The only important question i can raise is whether you want NobleCoin to be available for the common user? By that I refer to the high hashrates required to mine bitcoins. My opinion would be that those high hashrates are only for the wealthy people and do not match the intentions of NobleCoin. Well, if Noble price goes up in accordance with the network hashrate, then smaller amounts of the coin will be worth more. So really it should all work out, assuming the price goes up if ASICs hit the network.

I think you are wrong, asics takes less (much less) power so they will mine whatever they can and auto dump it to the market even for 1$ per day. And it is not really about the price of the coin, it is more about who mine this coin which is more important. We want strong hands, not quick-bucks shitters

With those scrypt asic costing $5000, all coins mined will be dumped in order for miners to get their investment back. The price will go down. It is no different to those pools that hop around mining the most profitable coin and dumping them.

I want ROFO to read it why is it that no one has mentioned a POS addition to Noble. we have talked about a saving account ( wallet) in the past. if a hard fork were to happen, personally, i think that a POS addition or the savings account idea that has been thrown around in the past would add additional value as well as infrastructure to this currency

There are 19 pools in the OP, but I only see that 5 of them are actually working:
- YourMine (47% of network hash) - Poolerino (33% of network hash) - Hash.so (11% of network hash) - CoinMine (1% of network hash) - IDCray (Less than 1%) - CharityPool (3% of network hash)
Rofo, you should update the post so newcomers to the coin can easily get set up and running. Other than that, this looks like a great coin. I think I am going to start mining myself shortly. Ive had enough playing around with Dogecoin and am ready to start getting involved with a REAL coin!

Hey guys, We've updated our page on tech. and sources as well as our approach here ( https://www.noblemovement.com/a-short-spiel-on-source-tech-our-approach/) in light of it cropping up again in discussions. There are a few updates. We will be taking it more seriously in the months to come once we feel we've settled in with the marketplace/services (and especially VoS if we make it) and we feel sure we've provided a strong enough foundation of infrastructure to make sure we're not going anywhere. Thanks for the heads up on the pools. I have left it a few weeks and knew it needed to be double-checked - will clean it up now. Regards, Jason

i must say, seeing/reading, all of the support for Noble on the VOS thread is encouraging. especially while conversing with the willfully ignorant and combative people that seem to think that talking bad about Noble is going to help them out with their personal ventures.
i throughly enjoyed the banter and proving that the addition of sodium fluoride to the water supply is doing it's job in reducing IQ scores. ( on average a drop of about 30 points is to be expected)
thank you for the laughs.
