Been waiting for a while now. Are the devs ever gonna fix the -datadir option? Do they even know they broke it?
Noblecoin is the only wallet I have which I can't run from a secured drive (out of 67 wallets) thus forcing me to run it from harddisk.
Running the following on a command prompt: noblecoin-qt.exe -datadir=. results in a complete crash and throws this as error:
"This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way. Please contact the application's support team for more information"
Devs. please fix this ... it's an essential feature for security minded folks.
Edit:
Lol, found the issue ... it's in the included noblecoin.conf, When I remove that from the folder and then run the QT-client with -datadir=. it DOES work.
Sorry eeeeek, I'll make sure to note that in the readme for other guys. Thanks for pointing it out. :S

Sorry for offtop, but do you think it could be legit? 20<kresut>30 http://www.dob.texas.gov/lg_manual/sm1037.pdf20<kresut>30 This is BY FAR the single most important document we've ever received from any United States government. 20<kresut>30 This is HIGHLY favorable to bitcoin. Please read it now. Read it carefully. Celebrate later. 20<kresut>30 It basically says Texas isn't going to regulate bitcoin exchanges and you don't need a money transmitter license in Texas - at all. That would be nice, but you'd still owe federal taxes on any bitcoin trades. Been real busy today but I skimmed this and would like to point this out. A cryptocurrency business that conducts money transmission must comply with all applicable licensing provisions of Finance Code Chapter 151 and of Title 7, Texas Administrative Code, Chapter 33. In addition, several considerations should be highlighted. First, because a money transmitter conducting virtual currency transactions conducts business through the Internet, the minimum net worth requirement under Finance Code §151.307 is $500,000. Be advised that the Commissioner may increase the required net worth up to a maximum of $1,000,000 based on the factors set out in §151.307(b). Second, a license holder may not include virtual currency assetsin calculations for its permissible investments under Finance Code §151.309. Lastly, pursuant to Finance Code §151.203(a)(3) the Commissioner requires that license applicants who handle virtual currencies in the course of their money transmission activities must submit a current third party security audit of their relevant computer systems. Because the new technological paradigm created by cryptocurrencies has brought with it new risks for the consumer, it is incumbent on a license applicant to demonstrate that all virtual currency is secure while controlled by the applicant. Supervisory Memorandum 1037 Under §151.307(a), a minimum net worth of $500,000 is required if a business operates through five or more locations. It has been the Department's policy that license holders operating through the Internet are considered to be in more than five locations. See http://www.dob.texas.gov/forms/corp-mw01.htm#netw

+1 who wouldnt want to buy NOBLE when you can get a 12% discount on things like Amazon gift cards just by using it? Free money basically... no brainer???
It not just that but a much easier and free way of converting Noble to fiat. Think about it. Xmas and birthdays, etc. If anyone you know wants to buy anything from Amazon (friends and family), tell them to ask you and you can buy it on their behalf using Noble and they can give you cash. No need to sign up with dysfunctional Mtgox or any other exchanges that converts BTC to fiat. All that paperwork and identify check is a waste of time. Finally the taxman won't know +1 This is VERY good idea. All we need is crypto usage in regular daily life.

I think they are still afraid of scams and just cannot believe it can work just like that (how? too good to be true), it HAS to be something wrong about it, etc... So they don't even bother to check for example a 5.00 USD Amazon card, which would cost them less than 4.50 (i think), but also they would have to acquire some Nobles first, probably also register to a new exhcange, etc.

Yup, they throw their coins on exchanges that some anonymous Russian puts up but won't use a market that has a 100% rating? Just wants to make you bang your head all day. That way you'll eventually get to their level and make the connection to their logic.

They throw, because they think they are smarter than others, and that the trollbox conversation is kind of "insider info" that only they know about it and can take leverage of?

I have to continue to do drugs and drink for another ten years or so (only on 14 years now) to get to that level to really know the reason.
