wow there is some panik in the coin world

just recievd this:

Bitstamp Support
Bitcoin withdrawal processing suspended
Dear Bitstamp users Bitstamp’s exchange software is extremely cautious concerning Bitcoin transactions. Currently it has suspended processing Bitcoin withdrawals due to inconsistent results reported by our bitcoind wallet, caused by a denial-of-service attack using transaction malleability to temporarily disrupt balance checking. As such, Bitcoin withdrawal and deposit processing will be suspended temporarily until a software fix is issued. No funds have been lost and no funds are at risk. This is a denial-of-service attack made possible by some misunderstandings in Bitcoin wallet implementations. These misunderstandings have simple solutions that are being implemented as we speak, and we're confident everything will be back to normal shortly. Withdrawals which failed on the 10th and 11th of February will be canceled and the amounts added back to the customer account balances. We will communicate any further developments regarding this issue. Thank you for your understanding! Best regards Bitstamp team

i can't wd btc on other trade sites too ....

Wow someone is really trying to kill the price of VTC. Every time it starts gaining a wall appears on the sell side... Sad

Instead of speculating about the potential motives of people selling, I'd suggest just treating this as an opportunity to buy with a capped price - I wish someone would put a big sell wall up every time I wanted to buy!

This. I doubled my holdings in the last 24 hours

Today is not a good day to be in the crypto markets, full stop.
Volume is anemic, and prices everywhere are sliding. Just get prepared mentally/emotionally for VTC to slide some more, mainly because Father Bitcoin is sick.
Remember, this coin was just born, and many many people (even miners) still have no idea what Vertcoin is yet. Don't focus on the price. Focus on building a good coin, responsive community, and good interfaces that Mom can use. Example: WE NEED AN SMS TIPBOT and should put up a bounty on vertcoinmarket.
Personally, I'm still mining VTC (have been off and on for weeks) and I'm getting ready to buy more VTC because this coin is a dark horse.

To the devs: Bitcoin is perceived as weak because transaction ID's cannot be used as unique identifiers. If you guys can resolve this issue before the BTC devs roll out their fix (and they MUST fix this), it will distinguish VTC above all others. In fact, such a fix may become the standard for patching other coins. It's better to fork early in the coin's life than later. Thanks for listening.

If you want this coin to succeed, there is a simple solution:

Provide a fork of cgminer, which can mine scrypt (--scrypt) and adaptive n-factor scrypt (--nscrypt). And provide binaries.

This coin needs more hashing power, but it is still very complicated to compile the vertminer for linux. Although I would call myself an advanced user, it still took me hours. No increasing hashing power = no rise in price.

which can mine scrypt (--scrypt) and adaptive n-factor scrypt (--nscrypt)

This what i prepare now...
And i really know this will lead to a lot of issues with users just copying their cgminer config and crying why this does not work with --nscrypt

Binaries will come afterwards. But a compilation should really not take hours (ok, if everything is prepared)

Completely agree. And about the second part... the devs are aware of this.

What are you going it sell it for? BTC? The whole crypto market has a systemic weakness with transaction malleability. You really should not be playing around today on the markets since the BTC exchanges are being spammed. Pay attention to what the major exchanges are doing and know that it's not safe to be moving money around right now.

Not everyone who is selling large amounts is a 'price manipulator'. I got in early on vertcoin and was able to grab about 3k vert with only 3mhs hash power. I dumped these when vertcoin first started to get popular and the price was high. I definitely wasn't a 'manipulator.' Just trying to minimize my risk and sell the coins while they had worth. THat might be what you are seeing with these walls - just redistribution of the coins, which is good for the coin.

well said.

Taking in profits is reasonable, and advisable depending on individual circumstances. Redistribution of coins is healthy.

Weird thought maybe, but could the sudden increase in hashrate be the pandacoin crowd testing the settings?

(Everything about that coin feels wrong BTW... Hope for their miners' sake that I'm wrong.)
