I think I'll invest a specific amount in VERTCOIN
Can you explain exactly how VERTCOIN is being protected from coming ASIC Huh?
Read the first page, there is more info on it

Of course I read it

my question is ASIC machines with 10 MH/s at LTC
mining VERTCOIN with 5 MH/s Huh?

or will not be able mining VERTCOIN?

all infos in op or on the website:
From: http://vertcoin.org/Vertcoin-DavidMuller.pdf

Scrypt was utilized by Litecoin to try and deter ASIC use because large memory requirements are the
best way to try and make ASIC financially unfeasible. Litecoin held out for a while, but the original
memory requirements in the barebone litecoin distribution were just not high enough to lock out ASIC
completely.

Vertcoin has now been released as the logical evolution of Litecoin and introduces what's known as
"Adaptive N‐Factor". The N‐factor component of Scrypt determines how much memory is required to
compute the hashing functions. Vertcoin N‐factor increases with time to stay one step ahead of any
possible ASIC development.

this does not answer my question ...
whether it will be possible the new ASIC machines mining VERTCOIN

even with low values .... and how can we be sure that this will not happen as yet not available ASIC machines on the market

if you mean the current generation of SCRYPT asics then nobody knows because none have reached the wider market yet.

in theory yes SCRYPT ASICS can mine vertcoin while the N-Factor is low.. but the point is that as the N factor increases they will become obsolete very quickly (much quicker than GPUs) unless they are designed with loads of ram.

so SCRYPT-N Factor is not ASIC proof.. only ASIC resistant.

but that being said there are no PoW coins out there that are ASIC proof.. they only claim that because there are no ASICs that one can buy publicly to mine with.
There is absolutely nothing to stop anyone from creating ASICS for any PoW based coin given the right financial incentive.

at the moment, adjusting the amount of ram needed is the only way to make it more difficult and expensive to produce ASICS.

What will happen when the funding limit is not reached?
Will someone from the dev team go to the convention in any case and just pay the rest by himself or will the coins be given back?

I'm pretty sure we can make it.
41% and 6 days left. Funded my second round. Lets go guys. This is very important to our coin!
