Hello guys plz help me i can't seem to get my miner working correctly. I have 3 R9 290 gpus that the modded cgminer says is turning out 1200 k/h total but on every pool dashboard and p2pool it shows a total of 400 k/h. My total scrypt hash was 2600 k/h so the amount on the cgminer sound kinda correct. I was told to let the dashboard average out after a hour same 400 k/h. I read on forums saying that the cgminer average is correct so i left it alone for a day and it only generated 1.6 vertoin the amount you get for 400 k/h. No matter what i do i can't seem to get the full performance of my self only 1/3 of it.

I have 3x R9 270's (Hynix) Chips Sapphire running @ 247Kh/s per card on Windows 7 X64 SP1 for Vert Coin. Here is my config vertminer.exe --scrypt-vert -o stratum+tcp://vtc.coingolem.com:3333 -u x.x -p x -w 256 --rawintensity 5120 -g 2 --thread-concurrency 6336 I set my Powertune, Clocks and fan speed via MSI Afterburner. I hope this helps. If anyone is looking for a pool, Here is this one, going well so far! I've tried p2p pool for 32 hours and got only 0.5 VTC with an 280x hashing 375Kh/s. My guess is p2p mining is only suited for big rigs right, or have i just been really unlucky?

You need about 24 hrs and difficulty are doubled during last couple days. So, more and more GPU miners are switching to VTC..

I thought it was only polite to drop by & say 'hello', as I've been mining Vert for the last 36 hours on my single HD7990. I was attracted to it because of the ASIC-proof nature of the coin, that's a GREAT idea for ensuring that distribution is equitable. Well, more equitable than just about any other crypto, anyway. I am a dedicated ZeitCoin supporter, let me make that clear. It's a coin with a social purpose, and due to the 'physics' of the coin, it's a long-term keeper rather than a short-term profit-maker. I have, by mining, trading & purchase amassed a reasonable 'stash' which will, through PoS minting, begin to start producing more coins than mining could, by a factor of over a thousand, over the next few months. I stopped mining Zeit as soon as the maths said it was more profitable/efficient to mine other coins & buy Zeit instead. For a few days I was mining Doge, as I was before the launch of Zeit. But Doge started dropping, so I started looking further afield. I'd noticed Vert had been a consistent high performer (on CoinWarz) but I didn't know what scrypt-N was. 2 days ago I made the effort to find out, installed the wallet & vertminer, and went for it as soon as my last Doge auto-payment went through. I am quite happy with the results so far, I'm going to continue mining until Monday night, after which for one week I'll be mining BlitzCoin, just for the laff. Then I'll be back here. I'm not a mindless profit-seeker but I do have financial pressures in the real world, as do the vast majority of us I suspect. It MATTERS to me about what I am profiting from & why. So although my 'heart' remains in Zeit, I'm not averse to contributing what I can to support & promote this coin too. Hope you're all having a happy, healthy & productive Sunday, ..and remember - There's a real world only a short walk from your 'puter

I've said that already, p2pool needs to have more than one global network. VTC is now fighting centralisation of hashrate into two-three classic pools, devs are encouraging users to mine on p2pool, but current p2pool is not an option with opportunity to get 1 share in 3 hours mining with 1Mhs (if you are unlucky, you can also get nothing for whole day; currently I was waiting about 10 hours to get share with 2Mhs). In current situation, p2pool is suitable only for those having many Mhs performance.

SECURE THE NETWORK In the name of being diplomatic and not making a fuss, I've held back on saying anything about this for a while, but now we need to talk about it. While we've achieved fantastic things in terms of p2pool, and Vertcoin has the highest proportion of p2pool mining of any chain I'm aware of, we do have an issue with one or two pools, as Verters great work has revealed at http://www.verters.com/block-analysisNamely, bitcrush and vertco.in are both rather too big. I have no doubt they are good pools (after all, so many of you wouldn't be there if they weren't) but that's not the point. Some of you may believe, because it's called a 51% attack, that you need 51% of the network hashrate to do it. Not so - it's just that if you have 51% of nethash you can _ALWAYS_ do it. If you have less, you have a smaller probability of accomplishing it, in proportion to how small your hashrate is (ie. it's incredibly unlikely, but you could in theory do it with 1kh/s). Let me put some figures on this for you: With 25% of nethash (which is what bitcrush and vertco.in both have at present), the probability of an attacker successfully orphaning the commonly used 6 confirmations is about 5%. It rises exponentially though, and if these pools grow to 30% of nethash, they would have a 13% chance of accomplishing that attack. Let them get to 35% of nethash and it's a 28% probability. On the flip side however, it doesn't take a massive reduction in their hashrate to vastly reduce that probability - for example, with 20% of nethash a pool has only a 1.5% probability of accomplishing such an attack, and at 15% of nethash it's down to a much more acceptable 0.2% probability. The other issue is, two big pools could in theory collude. I am personally satisfied this is no issue here, because I know that Bushido runs vertco.in and is not about to attack his own coin, but it still is an issue, and we shouldn't need to trust anyone here - the whole point of this is to make things trustless and secure by design. I'm very proud of the way we've managed to get the p2pool adoption in VTC so strong, but let's not rest on our laurels - there is still much work to be done. Please consider moving if you're on bitcrush or vertco.in, preferably to p2pool. Remember fees are lower on p2pool generally, payouts are higher and you're helping the network - http://p2pool.vertcoin.org/ will show you all the p2pool nodes that can be detected and selecting one close to you geographically is best (also setting one or two others as failover in your miner config) - the advantages of p2pool are manyfold, including that the pool operator cannot lose or steal your coins either through malice, incompetence or getting hacked, because they never hold the coins (they are paid directly to the miner), also, if the p2pool node you are on fails, you still get paid your shares because they are distributed on the sharechain, and not stored on any one node to be lost due to a failure. If you don't wish to use p2pool, at least try to join a smaller pool. Ideally I'd love to see everyone using p2pool but that's not realistically going to happen and it's actually not ideal for very small (ie. less than one modern GPU) miners, but even if we could get all the traditional pools down to at most 15% of nethash, that would be a very significant achievement.
