We've just answered Emin Gun Sirer's challenge that we prove it mathematically. So we did Smiley

Hey. I wanted to try Staking. I uploaded Agama Wallet from site veruscoin.io

I chose Native Mode. I synchronized the blockchain.
100% | 247711 / 247711 | Connections: 4

I put about 1100 VRSC on my wallet.

It all works on Amazon VPS.

Mining Status:   False
Staking Status:  True

After 24 hours of operation, the balance of the wallet has not changed.

What am I doing wrong???

You probably just have to wait. The average return right now in staking is about 57+% annually, but it is statistical, like mining, and comes in 24 coin block rewards. That means 1100 coins should earn maybe 500-600 coins or so over the year, but it will be in 24 coin chunks.

You can calculate your expected luck (waiting time in days on average) and return with this spreadsheet, by downloading it and entering both the current block from the explorer and the amount you are staking with:

What proportion of vrsc are staking at any time,  how can we check that?

It's a little involved to get a live number of the amount the network believes to be staking. Basically, it would be derived from the staking difficulty target, similar to Chain Power, described in the proof of power document a few messages above, over the last 10 or so staking blocks. It can be derived, and if you want to write a python script or something, we could help you. Otherwise, the proof of power doc is something that could give you a starting point. We will calculate and expose that number in an upcoming release, as a lot of people would like to have it easily available.

Will mining be possible by installing the wallet? If I want to mining with AMD GPU or NVidia it will not be possible? For my doubt and referring to this line posted in ANN:

Mining instructions:
Install and run the Verus-enhanced Agama wallet with mining support

The wallet has CPU mining built in, which is currently the fastest, and in fact only way to mine. There is a bounty offered and work being done on a GPU miner, but so far, it looks like when it is done that it may not be too competitive with CPUs. Some CPUs are getting over 500 MH/s, and we have yet to see any GPU getting even 100 MH/s on test hashing.

So the only GUI wallet is the Agama, it seems, is it still mining? I downloaded the CPU nheqminer but was receiving only 0s.

You might need to add the -v parameter, but in any case, the fastest miners right now for CPU, AMD, and nVidia are from Chris (monkins1010) here: https://github.com/monkins1010/
You can check the releases sections. ccminer supports CPU or nVidia, and AMD silent army supports AMD, and I believe CPU as well, but I haven't used that.

For any help with these miners, please use the Discord, which is pretty active: https://discord.gg/aeDbeEc

VRSC In version 0.4.0, just click the second stop staking under mining to pos, right? Do you need to click on the first start mining? In addition, will this vrsc support ASCI in the future

I'm not sure I fully understand the question... You should be on 0.4.0g for the latest. If it says "Stop staking", then you are already staking. If it says "Start staking", then you should click it to use proof of stake. Not sure of the last question. If you mean ASIC, there aren't ASICs now, as far as we know. We can't say what hardware developers will do, and just about any algorithm could have an ASIC made if someone cares enough. We do know that it wouldn't make us susceptible to 51% hash attacks, based on our latest paper proving as much.

Is there explorer with working API and endpoint, which would show current supply ?
It's needed for coinpaprika's circulating supply.

Best places are the #cpu-hashrate and #gpu-hashrate Discord channels or the spreadsheet that Discord user @paia has compiled here: https://discord.gg/YqnhueF

Here is the explorer, but many of the coins are time locked for more than a year still.
https://explorer.veruscoin.io/

You can get the accurate unlocked supply from this spreadsheet by entering the blockheight:

VerusHash 2.0, a brand new hash algorithm, designed to more equalize CPUs, GPUs, and FPGAs, is now released and ready for your CPU mining enjoyment through a very exciting fork of Verus!

The new VerusHash 2.0 will activate on December 28, 2018, at block height 310,000 and, because this is a hard fork, it is a mandatory update whether you mine or not.  Please be sure to UPDATE VERUS AGAMA AT LEAST ONE DAY PRIOR TO ACTIVATION (DECEMBER 27, 2018), and make sure to mine on your CPU for an EPIC CPU mining experience at block 310,000!

Download the latest Verus v0.5.0 with VerusHash 2.0 here: https://veruscoin.io/#download

To learn more about this update and a very generous bounty being offered by the Verus foundation for participatory open source development with regards to this new algorithm, read the Verus v0.5.0 Official Release Notes at the following link: https://bit.ly/VerusCoin-v05-Release-Notes

If you’re new to Verus and are curious about what we are building and how you might get involved, we’d love to have you join our thriving and very active Discord server!  To join and to learn all about Verus Coin and public blockchains as a service (PBaaS), visit our official site at https://veruscoin.io.
