Someone else had problems with bgfminer and furys not connecting to p2p pools (saying the pool is hiding block contents from the user) and tried with Cryptopool mining but after 5 min my hashrate disappear from the dashboard (i can see it in my workers page). But everything seems to work fine on blazinghashes.com
Thanks for letting us know!

The network is almost up to 6 GH! Lets get to 10 GH & get to the switch-over in a couple days!

I have put what i can't toward the network, wished i could do more. I have 2 asics running specifically for DGB (hope to make it bigger soon).

Once you sound the horn, help comes running. Wink  I know the dogecoin community was happy to lend a hand seeing as you were gracious enough to provide them assistance implementing digishield.

In this Laurel and Hardy, Three Stooges, fly by the seat of your pants and put out the fires as you start them, infantile crypto world, I’ve also got to take my hat off to the DigiByte devs, and more specifically to Jared. Where else have we seen this kind of organization and professionalism? In systematic, well planned and excellently executed fashion, everyone was duly and properly informed about, and instructed on how to update such that almost everyone from exchanges, to block explorers, to pools (new pools included), and to end users have been able to adequately prepare without nasty surprises (even those testy exchanges that have reputations and track records of being clumsy and unresponsive, or even downright problematic in some cases!).

My hat’s off to Jared for continuing to set the standard!
(Standards that all cryptos will inevitable be held to, like it or not, and that few will be able to match.)

★★★★ Introducing DigiByte v3.0.1 MultiAlgo★★★★
Mandatory Update before block 145,000

Mining pool, exchange & block explorer operators please notify us when you have updated your DigiByte wallet. It is very important we get everyone updated before block 145,000 as at that point sending coins from a v3.01 wallet to a v2.9.1 wallet or earlier could result in problems.

As always, backup your wallet.dat before upgrading! (File -> Backup Wallet -> Select location to save to)

Note: It may be necessary to re-index/rebuild the chain after upgrading & or delete the "blocks" & "chainstate" folders in the AppData/Roaming/DigiByte folder on Windows.

Why did DigiByte switch to Multi-Algo mining?

1) To update DigiShield and speed the blockchain back up to normal.
2) It is the most fair POW mining option out there (embraces ASICs & GPU miners alike on an even playing field).
3) More secure than a single POW mining scheme (much harder to 51% attack).
4) Speed block timing up to 30 seconds to facilitate faster merchant transactions (ties in with DigiPay LLC development).
5) Tap into used Bitcoin ASIC miners market. (Use those old ASICS to help secure the DGB blockchain)

If you can think of another reason multi-POW is better, let us know!

MultiAlgo DigiByte.conf & Options

You need to set the algo you want to mine in the digibyte.conf:

Code:
rpcallowip=*
rpcuser=yourusername
rpcpassword=yourpassword
server=1
daemon=1
txindex=1
debug=1
algo=scrypt
rpcport=14022
port=12024
addnode=216.250.125.121
addnode=74.208.230.160
addnode=69.164.206.169
addnode=
addnode=96.126.114.208
addnode=54.204.36.33
addnode=192.99.41.108
addnode=199.83.128.91
addnode=199.83.132.91

Once multi-algo mining kicks in you need one of these settings in your .conf to solo mine whichever algo you choose:
Code:
algo=scrypt
algo=sha256d
algo=groestl
algo=qubit
algo=skein

Arggghhhh...  finally got some coins in place to buy some hashes from NiceHash, and it's down for maintenance! Oh well... hopefully will shortly be able to add another GH or so to the network...

Ok, got around 585MH/s running through P2Pool now....  will gradually increase this to 1 GH over the next few hours and let it run for a while.

Trying to work out the total network rate using ./digibyted <parameter> ....  but can't seem to find the right one. "getmininginfo" doesn't return it... "getnettotals", "getnetworkinfo" etc none of these do it. Anyone know the right parameter to return the network hash total?

That is what I wrote yesterday. With the new multi algo implementation, these functions do not work. You can only have the total network hashrate with the 2.9.1 version.

Ok, I've got approximately 1.085GH/s second pointed at DGB now...  split evenly between P2Pool and CryptoPoolMining. Let's hope things carry on moving... lets get to block 145000 by the end of the weekend folks!!

Nice work guys!

@Digibyte it would be nice to get some updates on the exchange that youre running in the background & maybe some news on the NDA and outside investors.
I understand this could be some real sensitive information but the people that are mining right now (and that's allot,thank you all!) all need to keep there coins with a reason.(Not saying that digibyte have not enough reasons to hold all the coins but you know what i mean.)
And with that information im sure this will bring more Digibyte believers.

Keep up the good work things are getting really interesting!

It's very special to see what the community and dev team are doing with Digibyte. Definitely have taken the appropriate time to make sure the structure is sound. Appreciate the candor and every single member doing their part. I am hoping once the multi algo rolls around, more good things should be around the corner.

+1. I support Digibyte 100%...  but a lot of us are really sticking our necks out here financially. Obviously the DEVs are too...  but more frequent updates would be nice. Also...  confirmation that the DEVs are also contributing to the hashrate as promised?

So difficulty is still falling...  it's around 1/2 what it was this morning before I added my hashes. I guess the logical explanation for this is it's adjusting downwards to attain the 1 minute block target?

It's interesting that there is about a 1 to 1 ratio, right now, of hash vs. coins produced per day...

Kind of hard to tell exactly..  or to know if this is even accurate... but it would appear from the link below that we are sitting at around 4 GH/s for the network currently, down from almost 7.5 at one point!

https://www.multipool.us/my_stats.php?curr=dgb

I myself have pulled my 500MH off P2Pool temporarily to ensure I am not wasting my hashes and money if this effort is fizzling a bit...  but it's easily reactivated. I am still running 85MH/s from my own miners on P2Pool, and still running 500MH/s from NiceHash on cryptopoolmining ....  so not pulling out completely by any means. But it seems these hashes are best used as a concerted effort to push to block 145,000....  so when the next push comes I'll be back on it with a full 1 GH!

Yes, last night we almost hit 8 GH at one point & the difficulty was around 100 or lower. Block timing was definitely returning to normal. We are in the process of getting more BTC to buy more hash later today. Thank you for contributing TD!

If we can get up to 10 GH we should be able to get to block 145k in a couple days. We are still working on the finalization of two more mining pools that will allow mining on all 5 algos.
