I would have thought that anyone mining would have a minimum expectation of return that would be equal to roughly what they could get say mining Litecoin for example.
So even if they only spent a couple of days mining UTC, they're likely to wait until at least the value of UTC has got to that appropriate value level (equal to the value of LTC at the time of mining the UTC) and a proportion of those people are likely to sit it out for an even better return.

It's already there.  My argument above is that it won't be if the price stays the same and more people hop in.

Right now, at difficulty of 10, I can mine about 4 litecoins worth per xxx amount of time whereas most other "good" mining coins give me about 2 per xxx.  It's profitable to mine right now.

And for the guy above that said people won't sell at less than they bought in at -  you haven't been trading very long apparently.  People will trade for whatever they can get for it if they are convinced it's going to go even lower.

I don't believe Bumface screened the stakeholders for their longterm interest.  It is entirely possible that 3 of them could balk at the first sign of a declining profits, try to dump a substantial sum, and cause a chain reaction lower in the early life of this coin.  I don't know that's going to happen, don't even know if I really expect it, BUT, it is a possibility. I'll be much more comfortable about two months in when the amount of mined coins is at least a 2/3rds ratio to the amount that were given to stakeholders.

Until then, I've decided to mine and hold for a week and go from there.  I'll re-evaluate next Monday.

Post all of the messages Bumface deletes here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=444176

What is he scared of? If a coin can't stand to have a little light shined on it, you probably should avoid it. Shadiness.

Looking for some advice, Is it worth buying some utc on indie exchange for 0.008 of an ltc?

I'll get flamed to no end by the faithful on here, but I wouldn't buy until it got down to the price stakeholders paid - unless the difficulty starts to go up substantially.  Right now, I can sell at 2/3rds that price and still be more profitable than any other thing I've been mining of late.  If difficulty goes from 10 ---> 20, then the above price wouldn't be half bad.  If it goes to 30, than 0.008 is cheap relative to mining.

Guess it depends on where you see interest going.  Right now, that price still isn't justified.  In a week, who knows?

I can't see why you would get flamed on an opinion of reasonable approach.  It is that, an opinion based on rational thought.  There is no trolling there.

People are offering to sell relatively low figures of coins. Due to these low volumes I really suggest you go to sell at freshmarket.co.in. Theres a potential to get scammed otherwise. If you need higher volumes either wait until crypto-trade take it, or use escrow!

BTW Id like to say Im a stakeholder at 20k, and Im not selling for a while. I am also mining with a few MH.

1. Litecoin 2. Bitcoin 3. Any of the Anon coins

how to mine with nvidia.

Sry, don't exactly know... but there is cudaminer for Nvidia or something.

I'ts better you buy a Radeon instead.

If you look at https://litecoin.info/Mining_hardware_comparison you can see that there are no Nvidia with enough HashPower to pay your electric bill.

EDIT: WRONG THREAD, this is SCRYPT-JANE based, sorry. forget that.

i downloaded cudaminer and it isnt working. can someone tell me what to put in the .bat file.
i think cudaminer doesnt support scrypt-jane. you'll have to patch it somehow. but i think the hashrate of nvidia cards will be as low as hell. i get ~150 KH/s less with my radeons under jane as with "normal" scrypt. so just forget it. you wont be able to pay the electricity when u try to mine with cuda.

I believe this is a modified version of CUDAMiner courtesy of Rauta -

Caveat emptor - this is untested by myself as I have no nVidia hardware! You will need to edit 'start.bat' to add your pool URL and worker settings.

Can anyone confirm this as legit?

What's a standard r9 290 hashrate with scrypt jane?
Because I'm 200 kh/s lower than scrypt (without jane). Is it normal?
thanks

I can only go so far to say that they were posted in the #ultracoin-ops IRC by Rauta and that I have extracted and executed them in a VM. The executables seem legit in the sense that they do not do anything untoward however, I cannot vouch for their functionality owing to a lack of nVidia hardware to test them on.
