Well, they don´t even refuse to address those
allegations, they flat out ignore them. Clearly
with little or no ill effect for them.

Maybe do this ponzi discussion say once a month

for the next year

what do you say men ?

Instead of a discussion, how about a bet? Or letting me short this ? How about I double your ponzi profits if I turn out to be wrong, and I get to keep the principal if I was right?  We use escrow. How much are you willing to bet on pb still honoring its contracts 12 months from now?

Not everyone at once. Surely the pb believers would like to earn 2x more no?
Well Puppet I don't know what the men say, but I'd like to take you up on this bet. The bet will be a double or nothing bet, .2 btc, for one year each of us giving this amount to a escrow to be help until November 25 2015 6Pm Eastern time. At that time or before if PB fails to exist or pay out, the escrow will pay the .4 btc to  to the proper winner minus his fee should there be one. If we can find proper escrow to handle this I'm on. Anya

In this thread will not be a problem finding one legit escrow:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=276897.0

Puppet will you accept the challenge?  Roll Eyes It seems that Anya is very serious ..  Cheesy

You can use the strongcoin wallet to create secure multi-sig escrow. Just pay each other via escrow the bet amount. Complete the escrow of the loser, cancel that of the winner.

I want to bet on the next diff rise which is in ~7 days. I say it will be below 0.

ok, so the bet I proposed. You're on, 0.1 BTC, I say it will be above 0.

(And if its precisely zero, I suggest we both donate to a charity :p)

Time to turn on my 100PH machine!

Ok.
So i am lost on this are you all really going to wonder / bet on the difficulty for btc going up or down in 7 days? If this is the case i want in on some of that action i say will go down and not raise.

Who is the idiot here?

You, if you havent sold/withdrawn your profits.
And if you have, then you're a scammer because then its clear you also realize its a ponzi, but you got out in time.

Puppet, it's not your btc that's being gained or lost.  Why can't you stay out of it?  Why are you projecting so much hate.  It's a free world, people invest in whatever the hell they want to.

Are you jealous you are not earning money?  So, what is it?  Why so much hate?

What say you?

The thread is under "Securities".

Every piece of junk there, Puppet´s darling included, has a BCT disclaimer:

It was supposed to be 2X estimated payouts for the next year.

I want simple double or nothing bet, straight out , not confused with payouts, maybe we should do .5 so that way would be winner take the bitcoin. That sounds like fun don't it? Yes I'm serious about this,  So puppet what do you say , can we do this? Anya

I accept your bet.
Given the small amount, I would however like to make it useful for something else too, and take the opportunity to figure out multisig transactions so we can set this up in a way that we are not 100% reliant on escrow. 3 keys, one to each of us, third key held by escrow.  Im not sure how to do that in practice.

Even though most of what Puppet says is in very good judgement, We need to understand that even if something like PB was a Ponzi, math tells me that it could operate successfully for many years.

The question to ask is not how long it could operate; indeed in theory its possible it operates forever, if difficulty climbs fast enough (note thats only possible if the average investor loses money due to that difficulty increase ). The question to ask yourself is at what point does the ponzi operator maximize his profits? Im taking these bets because I think we are getting relatively close to that point.

I got asked those same questions when I warned people not to invest in various usagi schemes. People who didnt listen lost  ~100%
Patrick Harnett starfish/kraken ponzi. People who didnt listen lost  ~100%
Pirate. People who didnt listen lost  up to 100%
cryptx  (my supposed 'darling'). People who didnt listen lost  ~80%
Then there was Labcoin, BT Trader, AMT,

Im probably forgetting a few.
Feel free to check my posting history and see how often Ive been wrong.

Puppet, it's not your btc that's being gained or lost.

Nope, but it is the value of my BTC thats constantly being degraded by these scams that strongly associate bitcoin with scams and put pressure to increase regulation and enforcement. So yeah, you are messing with my wallet.

Besides that, Ive been in to bitcoin since quite a long time, and have yet to lose a satoshi to scams, so I did quite well for myself. I can afford to spend some time informing bitcoin newbies. Its a free world you said, so Im allowed am I not?

Strongcoin looks interesting for purchases, but Im not sure they are willing to mediate bets. I also dont see how you can use to create a key to give to another independant third party.
https://bitescrow.org/ and a escrow agent is probably a better solution.

Not saying PB Mining is a ponzi though I do lean in that direction, but I find most things puppet says is true and as for it not being his btc,it might not be but btc is never going to be accepted mainstream if it keeps getting linked with ponzi schemes and scams.More people here should out the possible  scammers and ponzi schemes at least let the forum discuss them and share experiences.

Also I would bet nearly 75% of cloudmining companies dont have all  the hash they are selling and just paying out the money. How long can that go on.?

Multisig is a great concept, but watch out. I once had a trade with multisig and used http://coinb.in/multisig/.
It was a huge PITA to release the amount from escrow, and it only worked out by manually botching up
the transactions. Do not use this script.

If you find a better one or want to do it by hand, don't just test it dry. Test it with a small amount but real transactions that you really sign.
Make an offline-copy of the script.

I initially read "SR" as silk road. I assume you mean 'senior' Smiley.
TBH, I dont give a hoot about forum titles, and these days "senior' tends to mean "posted a ton of nonsense in order to sell out his signature space for more".
But Im sure we can find someone that we both trust enough to hold one key to access half a btc, provided we find a mechanism that works. Anyone have a list of escrow providers?
