Some nice masternode purchases appearing in the order book on Cryptsy.

Just had my first 30% payment last night... Nice fat 2.1DRK! Woohoo!  Grin

What sort of mining rig one masternode equates to in terms of rewards per day?

Last time i looked it was around 30mh to earn 0.62 darkcoin(around the amount a masternode earns per day).

Although coinwarz shows more like 40+mh

http://www.coinwarz.com/calculators/darkcoin-mining-calculator/?h=43500&p=0.00&pc=0.10&pf=0.00&d=4918.08736418&r=3.50000000&er=0.00615883&btcer=395.09840000&hc=0.00

Spot on, it's about 2 rigs.  Masternodes are cheaper to buy and run, it's a bit of a no-brainer.

This would explain the strong MN network, currently at 1213.

When are you selling all that mining equipment, ignition? :p

I was hoping to snatch some cheap masternodes because Darkcoin price almost always drops when Bitcoin goes up. But still no sign of cheap coins yet :-/

It's not quite that black and white - if the price tanks, your MN is suddenly worth nothing, but your general purpose hardware will always have some resale value. MN's are higher risk in that regard.

Do both, if you can. Smiley

You have to pay about $0.24 per KWh if you live in London.  You can get good industrial deals for power if you use a lot (using a power broker) but I think you'd need quite a farm to reach that level of negotiation!  Sad

I finished selling it all about a month ago  Wink

Purchased masternodes and LTC Cloud mining shares, selling LTC for DRK.

Wow, bold move!

Is it working out ok?

Did you take a hit on profit, but the power savings made up for it?

That's exactly the reason why I sold the farm  Wink

The DRK price tanked and suddenly it became very attractive to sell the hardware and purchase more DRK then I could have mined in 5 years!

My profit quadrupled and I have no more power bill, I keep a rental of about 100 Mh/s on x11 going to do my bit for the network.

I must warn you however, on these LTC cloud mining deals, people are getting scammed left right and centre, you have to tread extremely carefully.

Big pressure on LTC, i wonder how long BTC-e supporters still behind this with the longterm decline.
Sometimes it think they let go down the ship slowly until they have see ROI of their expensive purchased ASICs.
A year and LTC is done

Getting a Mn is 100000x better than any mining rig.

Resale value? Trying to sell a rig of say 5x 280x is impossible. Now one buys. I know, I tried for months when LTC was at much higher price.
Selling parts is a nightmare. Ebay kills any good deal. Then there is paypal.

If DRK starts to drop below your entry point, it take no longer that 10-15 minutes to liquidate. It took me more than 2 months to sell-off my rig at a stupidly low price.

In summary, the Intel Management Engine and its applications are a backdoor with total access to and control over the rest of the PC. The ME is a threat to freedom, security, and privacy, and the libreboot project strongly recommends avoiding it entirely. Since recent versions of it can’t be removed, this means avoiding all recent generations of Intel hardware. details https://libreboot.org/faq.html#intelme --- https://tehnoetic.com/laptops --- https://store.vikings.net/x200-ryf-certfied
