Nice to hear DRK finally get mentioned by name on the main LTB podcast.  It seems like "original" Bitcoiners (i.e. the libertarian types) are starting to show some interest in DRK.  A very very good sign.  Grin

Also, maybe this is a good time to see if they are interested in an full interview with Evan?

what would you guys think of a bitcointalk style site but a dark version. Keeping its users anonymous and trace free ? After all if laws change for the worst the best place for them to chase users is forums. Maybe a forum similar to 4chan but obviously a little more maintained by devs...

Our coins may leave no trace, but our names in forums like this and Reddit do...

is it time for the next generation of forum for Crypto's or is my idea bad ?

I am a beginner so any feedback on the idea is great full.

Here is a great bunch of software I always use,
https://www.nicehash.com/?p=software

use newer kernel darkcoin-mod,set threadconcurrency, worksize and xintensity in your bat and run separate instances more stable(d=0 is GPU 0), and catalyst is 14.7 RC 3 is quicker than 14.2

color 0A
setx GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 100
SETX GPU_USE_SYNC_OBJECTS 1
sgminer.exe -k darkcoin-mod -o stratum+tcp://drk.ghash.io:3333 -u misha.1 -p x --xintensity 1000 --thread-concurrency 24500 -w 64 -d 0 -g 2

Dash is 27.3 times faster with syncing and updating than Bitcoin and 93.7 times faster than Monero. Bitcoin (v0.11.0) has a Tao ratio 11.2% faster than bitcoin (v0.10.0) release.
Dash (v.0.12.0.49) = Tao sync ratio = 0.15 seconds / hour of update || Dash (v.0.11.2.23) = Tao sync ratio = 0.24 seconds / hour of update. V12 versus V11 speedup = +36.5%
Bitcoin (v.0.11.0) = Tao sync ratio = 4.14 seconds / hour of update || Monero (v.0.41.1)  = Tao sync ratio = 14.2 seconds / hour of update

You're asking to rely on a third party to protect your privacy on an open medium. This is a failed request.

In fact, it's been shown numerous times that the only way to really protect your own privacy is to for you to use the tools themselves.

Most are either cheap or free, and are open source, and also require you to change your internet usage habits.

Look into accessing the internet using either TOR or I2P, in conjunction with VPN's/proxies, and just don't use the same name for much longer than a few weeks. There's a bit more that can be done, like using an open source operating system, and even then maintaining very selective hardware selections for which you access the internet.

There's just not gonna exist one forum that can do it all for you, especially when considering the hardware angle .. not many forums are going to be able to spoof the mac address of your networking for you, or even force you to use non-compromised hard drives or processors with back doors that allow communication through air gaps to wireless printers and such.

If you need to maintain a private traceable identity, consider using pgp so that the people you do interact with may confirm your identity within reasonable doubt.

probably a few more that don't matter for much.

Which coins do you suggest?
DRK
BTC
and??

I have blockchain stats on litecoin, quarkcoin, monero, dogecoin, those will do for starters.
Just wanted a rough guide to for max and min and coin transfer times.
could maybe force myself to buy 1 ripplecoin and install the wallet, feel free to add timer stats or coins if you have any?

You'd better do some deep analytics. If you can't - feel free to use mine, in my signature. Good luck!

you can also delete the blockchain (blocks and chainstate) and grab the bootstrap from here : https://github.com/UdjinM6/darkcoin-bootstrap
just make sure you also deleted the peers.dat

Meant to say earlier, your writeup is superb, its better english than mine and I only speak english Grin Some empirical real use data tagged on the end in table form might look good, am not sure can do deep analytics, will some shallow ones do instead.
This guy loves his analytical benchmarks, if only I understood half of it, lol

wallet update times might be quicker but cant see how btc transfer of 10 minutes in the blockchain would speed up?

Edit: Just saw this, I suppose 30 minute delays for a btc block are common, some of the comments appear confused,
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=972425.0
This is going to get worse and worse with more use, can the Chief Scientist sort it out, that is the BIG question.

Yup.
I listen to this podcast.

Its basically a bag of balls these days:

LTB podcast stats (improvised by CH)

mentions of BTC: 100k+
mentions of LTBCoin: 4k+
mentions of DRK: 1

srs tho. this aint the podcast 4 u…

p.s. If u dont know what LTBCoin is then u dont listen 2 this show…
(regrettably I do)

p.p.s my stats r pretty accurate within a ~ or two
