is dash pump over or what? price kind of in the shitter

Have you taken a look at the general market?  There is serious attrition happening right now, Dash has retained its relative position as number 4th throughout this consolidation process. Before the last run up, several projects were ahead of Dash after this consolidation process none of those projects recovered their previous positions, that tells you that the whole market went down while Dash has retained its relative position acquired in the last run up.

Development is ongoing and there are really good things coming for Dash in the next few weeks. I believe the market will inevitably consolidate in a few more healthy projects this year, and Dash will for sure be one of them. So as far as risk goes, I feel very comfortable with Dash's long term viability.

And, with BTC down, this also looks like a nice entry point.

The Bitcoin software, network, and concept is called "Bitcoin" with a capitalized "B". Bitcoin currency units are called "bitcoins" with a lowercase "b" -- this is often abbreviated BTC.

@alex-ru,  You are a visionary, I am proud to be part of this community together with you, I completely agree with your analysis.
Thanks for kind words. We all have to work hard in this direction especially because  Mr. Antonopoulos isn't with us yet.  Cheesy

After this first video is produced we will most likely start thinking about the next one which can be directed at people that already know about crypto. It is just a matter of priority about which one we do first.
Marketing segmentation - this is good. I hope our second video will be for Bitcoin holders. Because any good video should be finished with clear force to action. Best action is to buy DASH  Smiley. And to buy it people basically have to be aware about Bitcoin and have it.  Smiley

You are right, and there will be a second one directed at existing bitcoin holders, but think about the following:

1. We would have to divide the existing Bitcoin holders in two groups, a) BTC holders that don't know about Dash and b) BTC holders that already know about Dash but are not investing in it for their own reasons.

If group A, BTC holders that don't know about Dash, see our video somewhere around the Internet, it wont tell them much about the underlying technology but if they are interested they would know how to find more information about it and how to get coins.

On the other hand, If group B, BTC holders that already know about Dash, see our newbie introductory video, the video itself won't tell them much. But if they see our video is being published in different places around the Internet and that we are reaching a new audience, they may invest in Dash not because the video is telling them anything they did not know already but because they may like our approach to the market and invest in the fact that we are trying to attract new investment into the ecosystem.

2. The video being an introductory basic video can reach a broader audience but it will be our job to get it out there. My idea to do a formal press release with the video directed at traditional media publications. There are several press outlets that provide this type of service, so that we can reach media publications that traditionally don't report a lot on crypto but that may have marginal understanding of what Bitcoin is and may find it to be something interesting they can publish. If the video was too technical it would be unattractive to them and it would be constraint only to the crypto sphere. If we do this I firmly believe it would be the most effective combination.

The conclusion is that this marketing approach of reaching out to non crypto users will accomplish two things: 1. Truly inform new people that know nothing about crypto at a level they can understand and attract them directly into Dash. 2. Entice existing BTC holders to invest in Dash, not because the video is informing them but because they can see the team has the right vision and the project may grow from our efforts, so maybe that is a project they want to invest in.

As you can see this is the best balance when you consider pros and cons, and that is why we are going with this approach first. Later we can create a more technical one directed at a more crypto educated audience.

I agree that we need several different videos - targeted to several audiences. Hope we will crowdfund  enough money for them finally. Smiley

So If in the finish of our first video we don't ask viewers to simplify "Go and buy some DASH" - we must ask them at least "Go and visit our site for more information". Smiley

Since group a is surely too small a set to even worry about (well, both groups are piddling in terms of the real world  Cheesy) and group b at this point will likely never be convinced anyway until their dear and fluffy beliefs get crushed a whole lot more by cold hard market forces, I completely agree with your chosen strategy.  Smiley

Ok, I'm listening to this, and it's a little hard because they're being very egg-headed and talking about programs and projects I'm not familiar with or using acronyms.  And .... yah, very egg-headed.  However, it's still interesting, and one of the things I'm realizing is that they are missing a component.  A funding component.

Somehow, funding has to go beyond incremental donations.  There needs to be a feedback loop to pay and expand on these projects, whatever they may be, so they can grow and not become a dead end.

Just in case anyone actually pays attention to that abrasive person who keeps yelling "centralized reference node!"

If that person had bothered to actually READ tantestefana2's post (or at least performed one iota of research) he would understand that Dash still works even without the reference node.  All it does is make masternode payments less random and more regular. Take away the reference node and they become more random and possibly more prone to exploit, but it still works nonetheless.

Gee, look what I found by simply googling "darkcoin reference node" and clicking the very first search result:

To only pay active masternodes, pay masternodes evenly and ensure that all pools pay the correct node and amount we’ve introduced a new type of node, the reference node. This node has a special key that allows it to tell the network which nodes get paid, on which blocks in the future. Anyone on the network can verify these nodes are doing their job (i.e. not tampering with the results) by running the code and comparing the payee’s due to the deterministic algorithm used. In case of DDOS or a service failure, the network defaults to paying random masternodes as it does now.

That's enough pool spam, thanks.

Any idea on how the supposed decentralized reference node is going to work?  Seems like an impossible dream to me.

Oh crap, I'm sorry for giving them something to chew on!  I was trying to give a complete picture of where we are today and where we're going "why investin DASH".  So they had all the info.  I see now that it's a huge mistake, and I should just send them to DASHtalk.org.  I wanted to be helpful to one person, and for all I know, they could have been a troll as well.

I'm seriously sorry about that!

Dash Core v0.12.0.x will eliminate the reference node, I have it on good authority. As to how that will be accomplished, I have no idea.

What I do know is that the Proof of Honor winner among developers, Evan Duffield, has kept his promises without fail. If he has said he will eliminate the reference node, book it.

One less thing for the sideshow clowns to use in their travelling road show.
