Thanks for the update Wink

Dash is 27.3 times faster with syncing and updating than Bitcoin and 93.7 times faster than Monero. Bitcoin (v0.11.0) has a Tao ratio 11.2% faster than bitcoin (v0.10.0) release.
Dash (v.0.12.0.49) = Tao sync ratio = 0.15 seconds / hour of update || Dash (v.0.11.2.23) = Tao sync ratio = 0.24 seconds / hour of update. V12 versus V11 speedup = +36.5%
Bitcoin (v.0.11.0) = Tao sync ratio = 4.14 seconds / hour of update || Monero (v.0.41.1)  = Tao sync ratio = 14.2 seconds / hour of update

Heres a parting thought:
On a freshly booted up windows computer bitcoin takes around 53 seconds to 1 minute to complete indexing and start actual updating,
but if its already been done once and shut down then the startup time is only 30 seconds.

Now heres the kicker, on the latest version of Dash from cold its only 13 seconds and from hot its about 12 seconds.

Conclusions:
1) Starting Bitcoin from cold takes twice as long, but with Dash there is virtually no difference.
2) Nodes are found quicker (probably due to a better faster processing of blocks, memory hop speed/pool and network integrity)

Dash is 27.3 times faster with syncing and updating than Bitcoin and 93.7 times faster than Monero. Bitcoin (v0.11.0) has a Tao ratio 11.2% faster than bitcoin (v0.10.0) release.

Bitcoin (v.0.11.0) = Tao sync ratio = 4.14 seconds / hour of update || Monero (v.0.41.1)  = Tao sync ratio = 14.2 seconds / hour of update

Top 10 !? Are you kidding ?

If I can find one that doesn't sink my speculative budget in time for me to dump it I might let you know retrospectively.

EDIT: Ok, it appears your not alone in needing to liberate yourself of surplus monetary burden and gamble your life away since I've been getting PM'd with similar requests so I'll empty my toxic market musings on you and feel free to do what you will with them. (I won't call it tok's "sh*tcoinlist" since I know smooth monitors this thread every 10 seconds and I don't want to disrespect his cryptographic work of art). So here's...

*************** Tok's Dash Thread Mystic Market Trawl **************

(Lets see if I don't get a banning for "discussing other coins at length". I could sure do with one to get some of my life back )

**** Junk Bond Territory ****
I'm still waiting for my Bitbay to undrown itself - which it might actually have a chance of doing if its film star author manages to get the trading client to splutter into life. Outrunner decentralised eBay there for anyone feeling adventurous. Worst case - it goes back to 50 sats. Best case - your a millionaire.

**** Cryptonote Territory ****
Of the cryptonotes, all pumps are getting a bit mature now for there to be much short term upside in them. XMR was either going to break up or down from here but that last pump took the wind out of its sails a bit and it's now in a bit of a descending triangle situation. Massive order book keeping it in suspension - Real ? Fake ?. Who knows, probably some of both.

The rule is if your a Dash fan then it's Dash with a Cryptonote hedge. If your a Cryptonote fan then it's your choice of invisible, semi-visible, pseudo-visible-down-the-end of-a-toilet-roll blockchain coin with a Dash hedge, so take your pick. XMR's flavour of the month (and might still get a backdraught from the interview), BCN's come alive again on fundamentals (but all other cryptonotes hate it cos it's a premine [not more than they hate us though  Wink ]), shadow's got a good video but at an ATH so not ideal, nav's already on the tail end of a pump and coming down.

So of that lot if your looking for a hedge I'd wait for the bubble to burst on one of them and take a scoop.

**** TV Star Territory ****
Max Keiser and Russel Brand are pushing Startcoin and on the face of it you'd think this would be a slam-dunk manyfold pump and dump with 20 million RT fans and 8 million Trews fans. Right now might not actually be too bad an entry point for anyone thinking that that's a goer since it's come down to half its peak value of a week ago and appears to be bottoming out. Going against that is the absolutely toxic talking down it gets from bitcointalk afficionadoes. (Since this is a "family" thread for the most part I'll leave the quotes to others... https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1016533.0)

**** Tightrope Walkers ****
If you feel like a bit of precision trading that's almost guaranteed to pay you a couple of beers at the end of the week, BitUSD's currently $4 dollars over its peg. At the same time, BTS is well down on its honkers, so there's the perfect combination - scoop some BTS, lend some BitUSD into existence and short that mother back in place to collect Friday night's pizza budget.

**** Beauty Contests ****
Etherium keeps being about to be launched. When it does, wait to see if it goes up or down first and take appropriate action.

**** Trollbox Hysteria Zone ****
It's too late for the Vanilla bus by the looks of it but some appear to be eyeing up Dime over the horizon. Concerning the fundamentals on that one, my research is about as thin as that stuff that wafer wrapped prawns are wrapped in. As far as I'm concerned it's a slab of caramel coated chocolate but if Poloniex trollbox says it's investible then I'd rather argue with a hungry rhino than not take note.

**** Inverse Russian Roulette Zone ****
(That's the kind where 5 of the shots will kill you and only 1 keeps you alive).
Not a bad trading strategy I've found is just to scan everything below some miniscule marketcap, spend 45 seconds each on 3 things: the last few pages of their ANN thread, the graphs on marketcap.com and the trading volume to see if any 3 of those parameters "stick out of the background". Then just buy up a shitload of the stuff for 0.1 BTC and sit and wait. 200k cap is the upper boundary of kamikaze risk-tranche for me.

In summary, the territory is barren this year (because all the big innovation got introduced last year) and returns are not quite the jackpot they were. I'm also not as familiar with what's going on as I was last year because I gave up significant day trading due to it being not quite compatible with family life, so there may be plenty other stuff out there I've missed and that is by no means a comprehensive overview - just what I know of.

POLITICAL MESSAGE & INTERLUDE

As the current board of the DASH foundation are due to resign on their second anniversary, I would like to announce my candidacy for election to the board.

In particular, I would like to stand for Weights & Measures.

Beer, Babes and Boobs (sorry Mrs. Robinson), will be on every meeting agenda and minuted.  Everything else will be AOB.

As Ron Paul has announced he will be accepting Bitcoin donations for his election campaign, I too will be accepting donations of DASH.  If we raise 2,000 DASH, I will be throwing a pre-election Masked Vicars and Tarts party. In the spirit of openness, the party will be filmed and put on PornHub.

Remember to Vote: Coins101, he's our man, if anyone can, Coins can.

bump

also....if Mrs Robinson joins the foundation board, we will have to find a DASHing DASHer for her to pawn over: Beer, Babes and Big...........Noses.

Mr. Big's kitty will do Wink

YES!  Another pump and dump coin Im going to have fun with. Wheres it traded and what's market cap? My buddies and I would love to own a majority chunk of that.... Get in now... And move it around... Wink not joking either this could be fun and a way of making good quick money.

You can then pump it while we dump it! Wink  I can see a great partnership here. Lol

It's interesting enough for me to buy an MN for next to nothing (40 dash in BTC at the time) and dump the earnings for dash.  I'm making over one dash from 24hrs of passive shitcoin income that way.  I personally can't make that much mining anything I can think of.

Just a note. The Bytecoin ninjamine / premine is over 80% of the total Bytecoin emission. This is many times far worse than the size of the Dash instamine. It also, unlike the case of the DASH instamine, places the anonymity / privacy / fungibility of Bytecoin into serious question when one person or a small group of people control over 80% of the emission since there is an over 80% chance that the ring signatures are with the premine / ninjamine. The following thread goes over the BCN premine / ninjamine. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=740112.0;all.

Agree with ArticMine. Also, the degree of fraud and deception involved with that BCN ninjamine (2 years in the deep web? Fake white papers? Etc. Seriously?) far exceeds what happened with Dash, although all know I'm no fan of that either. Still, no comparison.

Nevertheless as a short term pump-and-dump trade it may be okay to play with. They are releasing a GUI soon or something.
