You're sounding about right . . each haswell core should be getting around 50kh. Im guessing you're talking about using all 8 cores at once. Ivy bridge cores only get me about 29k/core . . so it kinda sucks to see my 4820k only get about 200k# on 7 cores. Guess I could try OC'ing it but no water cooler so I can't really go too far.

Interesting find by some Vertcoin user on reddit: https://i.imgur.com/2azh8An.png

A Chinese Vertcoin community of 900+ that they weren't aware of! (For comparison, their primary meeting spot is reddit's /r/vertcoin and has about 3000 subscribers).

I look forward to having our own parallel Chinese community. DRK is more of a "fuck you, government" currency than just about any other crypto. Perfect for China once Bter and BTC38 wake up. Part of our donation pot needs to go towards incentivizing Chinese translations.

Are you using the latest miner? It's 1.3 avx-aes on the OP. I went from 142 kH/s to 380 kH/s on a stock i7-2600K when I upgraded to that.

What would it take to get an Android wallet app like the one Andreas Schildbach put together for Bitcoin up and running? Oh, how easy it would be to introduce Darkcoin to acquaintances when all they have to do is download an app that allows me to scan a QR code on their screen, send some coins then have it pop up on their wallet's DRK balance) I've noticed allot of coins don't have a smartphone wallet (I'm disregarding the web-based wallets on purpose, lol) to speak of which doesn't make much sense considering the massive amount of people whom use the things as their primary communication device. Would anyone here happen to have the programming skills/time to do such a thing? I cannot offer much for payment myself (100DRK/BTC equvalent) but perhaps the rest of the community would be grateful enough to donate to the author once it's out in the wild?

Also, while I was typing, a pleasant surprise: Beta 3.2! Downloading now.

I would certainly donate to that.
M2 too!
I think this could really be a game changer.
If I could just go around installing android wallets on friends' device and transferring them a coin here and a coin there, it would really jump-start their entrance to darkcoin.
imho, this should be given a bounty and priority... BUT should be done by someone else than the devs.

Mine was different than the op.

minerd -a X11 -o stratum+tcp://stratum1.suchpool.pw:3335 -u your_user.worker -p x -t 7

Careful if you're overclocking. I hit 90C easy on 6 and 7 threads at 4.5G overclock (4820k). Gonna try a few less threads or downclock I guess because I don't really want to put in a water cooler yet.

I see what you mean. The OP says 1.3, but the dl is 1.2. Either way, that file increased my mining speed by 2.5.

It's on the first page, 1.3. Here's the link:

https://mega.co.nz/#!L1YgUIwB!_Xby8q1OkZCpatrJAkm9GJXrz2vLvYCiLgIsGFB4ph8

it says darkcoin-minerd-1.2c.zip on Mega.

I get it directly on github.

With my i7 4770K @4.4Ghz on minerd-corei7-avx :

Code:
[2014-03-11 09:20:19] Stratum detected new block
[2014-03-11 09:20:19] thread 4: 42967 hashes, 83.59 khash/s
[2014-03-11 09:20:19] thread 5: 42212 hashes, 82.12 khash/s
[2014-03-11 09:20:19] thread 3: 39700 hashes, 77.53 khash/s
[2014-03-11 09:20:19] thread 1: 42966 hashes, 83.75 khash/s
[2014-03-11 09:20:19] thread 7: 32619 hashes, 63.33 khash/s
[2014-03-11 09:20:19] thread 6: 41125 hashes, 80.16 khash/s
[2014-03-11 09:20:19] thread 2: 42288 hashes, 82.43 khash/s
[2014-03-11 09:20:19] thread 0: 42807 hashes, 83.28 khash/s
Total : 640kh/s

Very weak... I keep on GPU mining DRK !

No offense to the devs on this, but I think the new logo was chosen really quickly. It looks nice and everything but not professional enough. (No offense to sigi either). I suggest part of the new fund be dedicated to getting a high grade professional logo done. We can scout for talent on http://dribbble.com/ . There is some amazing work to be done and the logo can inspire. If the logo decision is already final, then so be it, otherwise a professional can really make it pop.

I'd like to thank eduffield and the other developers for this critically important evolution in virtual currency. DarkCoin is what bitcoin should have been. Some might call it "Bitcoin 2.0" but would do better by saying: "DarkCoin is digital cash." - Child Harold - February 28, 2014

+1  I actually think some of the later proposed designs were more professional.  I also think we should spend a decent chunk on the logo.  It's the first thing you see when you see this coin.  It needs to make a great first impression!!
