TLDR:

- Next release will go out in the next two days probably, I'm going with the community and calling it "The Onyx Release"
- It features mandatory, non-exploitable Masternode payments.
- Masternode payments are completely predictable now. I.e., if there's 2000 masternodes you can expect 1 payment every 4 days (divide the amount of nodes by the blocks per day to get your ROI).
- Masternode payments will go to 25% one week from release (non-manditory)
- Afterwards I encourage the community to find the pools still paying 20% and contact them to make sure they update their stratum before it's too late
- Masternode payments beyond that will increase to 30% in November, 35% in December and continue on until we get at least 3000 masternodes.
- Huge security updates to Darksend. It's much more robust and can take a beating.

 But dont forget this DOES NOT keep you wallet safe. Only 1 address from that wallet. You need to dumprivkey for each subsequent address you create, which can be a total drag...

 But definitely something to do with 1 or 2 or 3 or N addresses you wish to hold most your DRKs

Please help me to understand this a bit clearer.

MN Payments are going to go up to 25% however it's non mandatory?  So we will be left with a voluntary increase in MN payments and potentially a 2 tier reward system.

Before it's too late, are we talking about enforcement?  How long until enforcement kicks in?

It's a true proof-of-service setup now. Each new node has a 1 in N (total number of masternodes) chance of receiving a payment each block. After a payment, they must wait N blocks to receive another one (give or take 10%). There's no room for gaming the system because it's using math based off of the proof-of-work to prove the node won, plus you'd have to wait 15 confirmations each time you moved money around and that takes from your profit too.

Will enforcement be turned on for future increase in block reward? or will this be goodwill based? this is not really clear to me cuz of the 'non-mandatory'

When do pool owners have to upgrade / patch their stratum(s)?
Whats with p2pools? Do they have to be patched too?

I'd like to accept DRK as the exclusive cryptocurrency of my company, but, no one makes a plugin that lets me manage transactions in a rational way. The middle-man services are unacceptable by definition of being middle-man services. The whole damn point is to keep the info private, not hand it all over to a 3rd party so that the guvtrash can subpoena them for the very info I'm trying to keep private... I just want a plugin that holds a list of addresses and increments as they get used... Why is this so much to ask? Paying doesn't even get anyone to do it. I guess all software developers hate money?

I'd also like to split the database so that no transaction data or customer information is stored on a server, but on a local machine that I can restrict physical access to. Then my customers can perform truly safe, anonymous transactions with no way for any other 3rd party, guvthug or otherwise, to know who they are, what they bought, or even if they bought. No way to follow the money back to my customers because DRK!

Failing to take these measures results in data hanging around that can be obtained by other means, defeating the purpose of DRK in the first place. am I the only online vendor that actually gives a shit about his customers' privacy?

My goal is to maintain control of all data, such that there are no remnants in the hands of 3rd parties who could give the information away against my will. If I have the only copy, I can destroy the only copy. If it is also my standing policy to destroy all data after the transaction is complete, my customers' cannot be betrayed by 3rd parties, or even myself. No mailing address, no name, no amount spent, no items bought, etc. A subpoena sent to me for data I don't have is a subpoena I don't have to respond to.

I think the reward changes are coded in, activated by blockheight, so no there shouldn't be updates needed each time.

My reading of Evan's post is that anyone not fully compliant by the Hammerfall date will have all their blocks orphaned. They've got three weeks, "...before it's too late."

Here is the most likely scenario as I see it:

• 2 weeks ago, Moolah pulled down Mintpal with no effective warning (apart from 1 tweet on Moolah's twitter)
• Shortly after, the largest wallet on cryptoid, being Mintpal at 430k DRK, went AWOL (https://chainz.cryptoid.info/drk/#!wallets)
• The new Mintpal site is inexplicably defunct, even 2 weeks later many people's coins are missing (https://twitter.com/moolah_io/status/521471213063782400).
• Our new friend (sciencerocket) shows up claiming to have a lot of DRK to sell and doesn't seem to care what price he sells at and is even warning people he is going to dump and offering proof of the dumps, and then complaining people are 'too cheap' to buy his dumped coins at firesale prices.

Conclusion:

I bet that _sciencerocket is Alex Green, Director/Owner of MooPay Ltd (his 'Cash Cow').  If this is true then he has stolen a large bulk of the Mintpal drk and is now trying to create demand to offload those DRK before the cat & mouse game is up on Mintpal when the users realise they are never getting their missing coins back...  he waited until DRK anonymity was working and the new Mintpal site was never supposed to work because it was just a pretext to execute this theft under the guise of an incompetent Mintpal site 'upgrade'.

Or else why would a dumper be so desperate to sell at any price unless these are stolen coins?

I'll have one up later today.  Got me some DRK last night.  I got it off of Cryptsy and I forgot my password and had to do a reset.  Now they're making me wait 24 hours to process any withdrawals because I reset my password.

I look at charts like this and remember Krisov Atlas' rant about why the hell LTC was worth anything at all, and remember thinking at the time that everything he was deriding LTC for could equally well be applied to BTC.

DRK wins on all technical fronts, and the lead is growing. We just haven't told the people who matter (enough) about it yet.
