It looks like withdrawing works. I just withdrew $10 to MtGox.
This. And I withdrew some btc a few hours ago. Worked like a charm, coins were sent instant. I had trouble today withdrawing USD to code, but Zhoutong was on it instantly. I would suggest that if you have issues withdrawing at all, put in a ticket. He's very responsive.

...Yeah, this has happened several times to me. One time, I was zhoutong himself, and one time I was "donpepe" (don't know who that is).

...Yeah, this has happened several times to me. One time, I was zhoutong himself, and one time I was "donpepe" (don't know who that is). Thank you for your report about these problems. We were fully aware since the issues started. It's indeed our fault that we have chosen the wrong partner (Heroku) to work with. Even though security is less of a problem, we are not able to control the system fully. Critical errors can't be logged either. We have fixed this problem by disabling the cache (a temporary solution). Apparently Varnish was caching the cookies and it caused a lot of inconsistencies. Unfortunately, we were not aware and we couldn't do anything about it because we don't have any control. 0% of the downtime is caused by Bitcoinica in this month. We don't plan to prepare a press release now because we are going to launch our next release soon. We have already chosen the new hosting provider and we will gain full control over system administrative matters. So this kind of problems can be easily found during testing stage.

Yes, roughly that. We display your account maintenance (in USD) in the sidebar. You can always check and confirm. Always take consideration of your Bitcoin deposit. If Bitcoin drops your margin account will lose value.

If Bitcoin drops your margin account will lose value. So margin must stay above maintenance to avoid liquidation? Margin becoming lower than maintenance is the same as net value dropping below zero, isn't it? How exactly is maintenance calculated?

Why am I getting an application error!!! was working fine with Chrome for the last couple days!.. Well, it's an error caused by Heroku. ( https://status.heroku.com/) 0% of downtime in this week was caused by Bitcoinica. Sorry for the inconvenience!

Can a stoporder execute if I have no position? Suppose the price is $3 now, can I set a limit order at $4 and a stop at $3.5 which could only be triggered iff/after the $4 order is executed?

Yes, Im curious how exactly you place it. Say I have a position of 10 buy at 3.00 do i add say a trailing stop of a sell of 10 at 3. to protect my initial investment ? How much is a typical lower trail ?

My question was whether I can place a falling-stop higher than the current price which can only be triggered if my order is filled (I don't want my stop becoming a margin order).
But to your question, in theory yes, if you place a stop at the same price as your position, then if the market moves against you, you lose no money. HOWEVER, you've got spreads, fees, and general fluctuation. Spreads of 0.1 are not uncommon and you probably don't want to trigger a stop until a price movement is decisively against you. You could set your order, watch it for a while, then chase your gains with stops. That way you're only liquidating your position when the market reverses rather than while you are gaining.
If you are sure the price is going up, you buy at $3, then .1 under the bid should be fine. But unfortunately, that might be $2.7

Spread is inclusive of all fees except those required to get your money in/out of Bitcoinica. Also, slippage.

Bitcoinica's prices have stopped updating. The "real" price at gox is 2.6 right now.

Anyone else's ticker stopped at bitcoinica ? mine is stuck at 2.90.. Yep. Stuck here too...seems awfully convenient that it's stuck when I should have a gain from my short position.

Bitcoinica's prices have stopped updating. Everyone in my office is shorting at maximum margin, because the "real" price at gox is 2.6 right now.
Well this should get really interesting.

1. What you are doing is not right. You know the price is wrong so you are doing something that you shouldn't do, hopefully Zhou will ban all these accounts and freeze the money, because of your act(s). 2. Be careful not getting a margin call if you are doing it with max margin. bitcoin price is very volatile.
