Is there real interest in a blockexplorer-like site for Geist Geld?  Help me decide if I should set it up!     Grin

Yes: 16p7hr3nKhFrKz3qn2cg3Q3buEgr5yPnU9
No: 1H51nfR4V83dhy9niUZjjXigVVYeX14qZ9

0:0, so there doesn't seem to be neither real need nor interest in the blockexplorer for GG.   Grin

I think there is interest.
The problem is people don't like to pay for voting.
If you set up geist blockexplorer though, I would be glad to donate once it's up.
And maybe Lolcust can offer a bounty?

GEG added to http://blockexplorer.sytes.net/.  I hope it's useful.

Thank you!
Sent a little GEG donation.

And here is the usability update, with a few tweaks to time windows and such.

http://www.geistgeld.org/getting-started.html

Expect exchange approximately after 50%+ users update their stuffs.

Now, some generalized notes

1) pretty please back up the wallet.dat before you do anything

2) New folder structure is

 Windows: C:\Documents and Settings\username\Application Data\geistgeld
Mac: ~/Library/Application Support/geistgeld
Unix: ~/.geistgeld

3) New config name is geist.conf

4) WALLET.DAT (the monies) AND OTHER DATA NOW RESIDES IN FOLDER geistdata INSIDE THE DATADIR

5) Windows users can just download the new Crutches bundle with all the configs in place, then copy the contents of Vital_Data\testnet into the Vital_Data\geistdata.

BAM! new life

(please verify your balance and the network operation before you delete the old portable bundle with its lonely old testnet folder Smiley

6) linux users can just make a folder .geistgeld, put their config and their geistdata (with wallet.dat and blockchain) there, and no longer bother passing the -datadir Cheesy

Is anyone have this strange problem?
Every time i restart GUIMiner to mine solo GG, it changes the port to 8332.
Every time i change back it & saving.
Still when i starts again, the port changes back to 8332.
Only way for me is to change the port to 8777 in server.ini file itself.
Anyone getting this strange behavior?
I got it in both GG, GG-new & now also in GG-pack.

I've updated it also at my Linux box and everything was fine.  I have then updated the daemon which feeds the block explorer (http://blockexplorer.sytes.net/) and it's still downloading the block chain, so the explorer is stuck at block 79024 at the moment.  Let's hope everything goes smooth and as soon as the daemon reaches there, the block explorer will show it automatically.

I did have this problem too back when I used GUIMiner.
Here is a simple workaround!
In the server dropdownmenu, set it to "other" instead of "solo".
Now you can change port number as you wish without this problem, and it sticks.
The "solo" settings make it revert to default bitcoin solo mining port.

It doesn't.  Let's hope a complete database rebuilt isn't needed.

Solved.  Updated to the current block again using the new version (new directory structure).

ATTENTION FELLOW BRAVE GEIST GELD USERS!

The Simplecoin opensource pool has now opened a public beta of Geist Geld support.

http://simplecoin.us/stats.php

While their frontpage has not yet introduced references to GG, you can plainly see GG blockrate in the statistics graph (Link above) so join the fun and fire away.

Be advised that typical solo cgminer settings ( -s 1 -Q 0 ) are NOT effective with pools, and that part of this public beta's intent is to determine optimum miner soft tweaks for such a fast blockrate.

Obviously, longpoll is pretty much a must.

Having said that, join and let's try out this thing.

Thought I could share my settings and tweaks since I started pool mining Geist.

Using cgminer on dual 6990 rig.
cgminer -o pool.simplecoin.us:8337 -u user -p pass -g 1 -w 128 -v 2

Stats:
Cgminer reports (avg) 1535 Mh/sec and efficiency 88%.

Will do some more tweaking during the day and report back if it improves significantly.  Smiley

Yep, pool seems to work great!

Edit;
Changed to worksize 256
Stats:
Cgminer reports (avg) 1500 Mh/sec and efficiency 94%

Settings in cgminer:
Longpoll on
Intensity 8
Queue 0
Scantime 20
