Mining Guide

NetII can be mined with the same miners as Quark.

CPU-Mining:
Quarkcoin-CPU-Miner from Neisklar (source code, recommended):
https://github.com/Neisklar/quarkcoin-cpuminer

Binaries Download(Win64_all_Improved2.zip)
http://sourceforge.net/projects/philosopherstone/files/QRK

NetII-CPU-Miner compiled by zvs(Thanks!!!!!!!!):
Someone reported this file as a virus. It could be a false positive (since miners can be used in a botnet), but use with caution anyways.
https://www.dropbox.com/s/q5dami23y32gcbc/quarkcoin.rar
Note: Use binary miners with caution. I'd suggest building your own miner using source code.

Solo Mining:
Code:
minerd -a quark -o http://your-NetII-qt-wallet-ip:rcpport/ -u rpcusername -p rpcpassword --no-stratum --no-longpoll

The default rpcport is 27890. And for solo mining, usually you run your wallet on your own machine so the ip address is 127.0.0.1.

GPU-Mining:

SPH-SGMINER

Sample netcoin2.conf:

If you want to run the netcoin2d-daemon which gives access to RPC commands you should install a netcoin2.conf file.
Make sure the file is not world-readable - your netcoin2 installation needs only reading access.
A basic netcoin2.conf could look like this:

Code:
rpcuser=rpcuser
rpcpassword=replaceThisWithALongPasswordWithSomeDigits
server=1
daemon=1
checklevel=2
addnode=103.24.0.208
addnode=113.16.207.25
addnode=117.28.36.195
addnode=220.173.253.69
addnode=113.7.112.228
addnode=222.172.0.24
addnode=180.143.255.137
addnode=180.142.184.175
addnode=180.138.176.159
addnode=199.188.178.180
addnode=90.157.19.238

Is this coin going to be an easy meat for botnets since it's a CPU coin?

The linux link is the source http://192.3.108.92/netcoin2.tar.gz (actually contains no binaries)

Aside from usual stuff needed by most other coins (boost, qt ... ) you need here also libqrencode-dev (in debian/ubuntu distros, in other distros the package would have similar name...) ... or alternatively just rip the QR feature out Smiley

looks like a fair launch but really we have more than enough QRK clones. there must be 50 now.

When I launched the client, only 500 coins were generated (well, I noticed a bit late, took me 2 mins to start downloading and 5 more mins to compile... so someone was faster than me)

Smelter does not work (well, no way to pay royalties across coin types, I guess Smiley, wonder how tough it would be for someone with CG/Cuda experience to make a proper GPU miner. Technically it is just 6 hash types, so should not probably be that hard Smiley

Nice looking client, Client says network hashrate at 0, nice feature, but is it working?  I am mining with the client(I think) with just my laptop but that's some hash power.

Is anybody finding any blocks?  Thanks

Mine works, shows over 14MH/s at this moment. I mined about 6 blocks so far. Difficulty is rising fast.

Thanks for the reply, restarted the client and those numbers started working right away, hopefully I find some luck as well.

No premine (+)
Colorful wallet with some change about hashrate and coins mined (++)
Fair and good launch (+++)

the single (-) i see is the reward which increase with blocks ( maybe it should be inverse)

Any way good luck dev !!  Wink

aha, wasted too much time at 10.

anyway, I saw minimum fee was 0.0000001, so I changed it to 0.00001, so the p2pool will only mine for transactions with fee of that amt per kb.  if anyone wonders about the lack of transactions, etc.  it's not set to zero (transactions), just something more reasonable

Try 12 hours.
I've mined this coin with two decent comps for one hour and not a single block found.
That is not bad luck. This coin was instamined by either a botnet or someone with a serious cloudmining problem.
If you can't solo mine a coin 10 hours after launch there is a problem.

Giving up, everything about this coin reeks of amateurism, from the pathetic looking wallet to the half-assed website with broken english (chinese dev maybe?).

I think botnets are setup not to instamine Quark clones. There are a few new algos out there for CPU coins that are quark like. I think the devs should stay away from quark algo from now on and go with the newer botnet resistant ones. We shall see what happens to Animecoin. That one is going to be quark so I suspect a botnet will rape it straight away.

Someone claimed difficulty was @  ~13 approx. 11hrs40m before your post.  So for you difficulty had to be under 10.  That's not hard to solo mine with quark cpuminer, since even something like a junk 2x L5420 can get over 500khash.  So that would be unlucky, unless you were using the built-in miner, in which case you probably should research these things more before diving in to a somewhat futile endeavor

I started at block 1000, I'm not a botnet and I rarely make use of cloud mining as normally it's a colossal waste of $$, I do on occasion start some stuff up for a new coin though, I'm paying $2.10 an hour right now for thirty of the 8-core amazon spot instances.  Rest is dedicated servers that I buy in bulk and use for this or resell, depending on what's going on (oh i've also some stuff colo at dacentec, cool place w/ rent to own)

I have some compiled for Windows.  Google kept flagging my website as malicious because of them though so I eventually removed it.  I don't remember which files belonged to the wallet and which to the miner, but:

Those are for the wallet.
I'm talking about the miner they mention in the first post.

Quote
Mining Guide:

NetII can be mined with the same miners as Quark.

CPU-Mining:

Quarkcoin-CPU-Miner from Neisklar: https://github.com/Neisklar/quarkcoin-cpuminer
Code:

minerd -a quark -o http://your-NetII-qt-wallet-ip:rcpport/ -u rpcusername -p rpcpassword --no-stratum --no-longpoll

I have some compiled for Windows.  Google kept flagging my website as malicious because of them though so I eventually removed it.  I don't remember which files belonged to the wallet and which to the miner, but:

Holy shit!! 24 hours and already huge difficulty. Guess I pass on this one.

"blocks" : 1546,
"currentblocksize" : 0,
"currentblocktx" : 0,
"difficulty" : 7127.82880870,
"errors" : "",
"generate" : false,
"genproclimit" : -1,
"hashespersec" : 0,
"networkhashps" : 1818186537,
"pooledtx" : 0,
"testnet" : false,
"blockreward" : "50.00"

So because you are able to mine with 30x 8 core cloud servers its fair?
Talk about a biased opinion.

Frankly, I did't mine many coins (I am not a botnet owner, nor a cloud miner. I only have a single poor server at home)... The high difficulty is unexpected  Shocked

These miner binaries are not provided by NET2 devs. They are provided by comminity members, so use with caution. I highly recommend building the miner by yourself. Also, it could be a false positive, since some antivirus might think the miner as a worm.

For the pool connection problem, I guess it could be your connection issue. What is your ISP? Perhaps it has a bad connection to that pool server. Could you please try another pool?

Hope this helps.

What's plans for the future? What is making the author?

Thank you for your interest in NetII.
Our priliminary plan is to start a giveaway thread, hopefully this Saturday. Also votes for adding this coin to Coinedup and cryptsy will be started.
Our devs are working on an exciting new wallet feature Wink. Stay tuned, I will update a detailed plan to OP tommorrow (since it is late night here Shocked).

About 7600, if we assume a single E3-1230 CPU has a hashrate of about 600-700K.

So because you are able to mine with 30x 8 core cloud servers its fair?
Talk about a biased opinion.

wtf isn't fair about it?  it's not like $2.10 an hour is outlandish.  we're not talking about someone blowing $100 an hour on 100 of the 32 core servers

Just wanted to let you guys know my current progress:

1. Devs are working hard on the built-in game. We are gonna complete it by next weekend.
2. A logo contest will be starting very soon (this afternoon), and the new logo will be used in the new wallet.
3. Some more wallet refinements have been done, and will be integrated to the new wallet.
4. We are going to start a new giveaway shortly, since the original one was locked by mods.

Unfortunately, recently we are having some small troubles. An important member in our team, Phil, is so busy with his life and unable to spend enough time working on this coin, therefore the release of new wallet will be delayed. We are not sure if Phil will be back or not, but other members are still actively developing. The new wallet should be ready within two weeks, with some major changes (it is likely to be a mandatory update). We are also looking for new partners. If you are interested, contact me at netcoinmsg@gmail.com

NET2 is pretty high up on the AllCrypt voting. I better hurry up with the Netcoin mining. I have FTC to trade, when it gets added.

This coin is not dead. The new wallet has been released!  Smiley

Are still going to claim that?

I apologize for not being able to show up here for a while... My computer had a catastrophic failure several weeks ago and all my work gone. I am trying to catching up slowly... I am going to integrate more features into the wallet, stay tuned  Smiley

Basically the latest wallet has an external interface for integrated applications (the MORE icon). However I lost all my code of the original plan (screenshot shown in OP). If anyone is interested in creating some applications and glad to help, please let me know  Smiley

So, did you even think about contacting the Devs of the original, and still active, Netcoin and get permission to use their name?

Might be an issue down the road for you if you last that long...

The more exchanges the merrier. I have never heard of QEX.la but every exchange has to start somewhere, and if it's good enough it could take a place alongside the big name exchanges that get the most volume of trades.

To reduce stale shares in the official P2Pool, add the following parameters to sgminer:
Code:
--queue 0 --scan-time 1 --expiry 1 --gpu-dyninterval 10

Happy mining!  Wink

Reward of 37.7777 NET2 has been sent to NTnLpcHBdcMFMsU8Yhk3AeTL48wFTbUnz4. Thanks for mining in the official pool!

TXID be6b9ee126fb222ef0ed55d16be031b2d126f4c909fe8fb923f873c45f5228b4

Attention! It looks like the owner of NTnLpcHBdcMFMsU8Yhk3AeTL48wFTbUnz4 is using a wrong miner. Please use the speicial sph-sgminer for QUARK algorithm instead of cgminer or sgminer otherwise you will not get any income.

You can get sph-sgminer here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=475795.0
