The default rpcport is 27890. And for solo mining, usually you run your wallet on your own machine so the ip address is 127.0.0.1.

Aside from usual stuff needed by most other coins (boost, qt ... ) you need here also libqrencode-dev (in debian/ubuntu distros, in other distros the package would have similar name...) ... or alternatively just rip the QR feature out

When I launched the client, only 500 coins were generated (well, I noticed a bit late, took me 2 mins to start downloading and 5 more mins to compile... so someone was faster than me)

Smelter does not work (well, no way to pay royalties across coin types, I guess , wonder how tough it would be for someone with CG/Cuda experience to make a proper GPU miner. Technically it is just 6 hash types, so should not probably be that hard
