WoW that is huge, now to get the drinks into pot/smoke shops across the states and canada, even brochures/pamphlets in stores would go a long way.

CryptoChainer.com has the latest PotCoin blockchain, available for download.  I agree that you should stake this one 24/7, if possible.

How do you stake it? I opened the wallet and there are no active connections to the network...

You won't  be able to stake your coins if your wallet is not updated to the latest blockchain height.

The boostrap would be helpful to make it easier to download the whole blockchain.

Then add these nodes to your potcoin.conf if you have no active network connections.

addnode=76.27.123.66
addnode=208.66.68.130
addnode=68.197.68.250
addnode=173.183.179.144
addnode=86.133.247.145
addnode=216.146.143.177
addnode=24.220.150.22

Anyone needing the bootstrap can find it here
https://www.amazon.com/clouddrive/share/3ZFxNGbUcJF8vF25DY25JVqrTG5AGR5PSOCiMLI9fnG?ref_=cd_ph_share_link_copy

If the bootstrap gets outdated please let me know and I will refresh it. Going to push a new one up there now so its as up to date as possible.

For a list of active nodes folks should keep an eye on https://chainz.cryptoid.info/pot/#!network
click on the nodes link a list will popup that you can copy/paste into your potcoin.conf

When you say "bootstrap" you mean a new wallet, right? what happens to the old one, is it reduced to the 'wallet.dat' file? If so, will the new "bootstrap" look for that dat file by itself or does it have to be directed to it or inputted in the thew "bootstrap"?
In what screen do you input the working nodes? and why are they not included in the new wallet ("bootstrap") so it does it by itself as it should?

Oh and when you try to open the potcoin-bootstrap file, you get the message "Windows cannot open this file..." Is this making things absurdly difficult or what?

No the bootstrap.dat is NOT a new wallet. Its a quick and easy way to sync your wallet with the network. Instead of your wallet pulling down each of 1million+ blocks from other peers it loads it from the hdd. I do have a quick start pack at that same link with the exe and a batch file to launch it, I also have a conf to get people started. I could very easily update that conf with a known list of peers from cryptoid but it would only be valid as long as those peers have an active wallet connected to the network.

We need more people running wallets so that we have more nodes, this is way crypto is designed to work.

Thanks. But that doesn't help someone like me a lot. What do you actually do? Do you open (install, since it installs every time you open it) the wallet and it looks for the "bootstrap" by itself or otherwise how do you include it in the wallet install? and then how do you add those nodes? Or it isn't necessary to add the nodes because they are included in the "bootstrap"?

You don't have to look for anything. I have the bootstrap.dat 7zipped as a separate file, if you need to use it you can drop it in your data folder and restart the qt, the wallet will automagically start pulling blocks from the bootstrap. If you want to manually add peers you have 2 option, 1) you can edit the potcoin.conf that resides in your data folder and add each peer like so addnode=x.x.x.x, you can also copy/paste direct from the list cryptoid provides for all of their supported coins. 2) you can use the same code addnode=x.x.x.x in the debug console to add them. There are enough active wallets that if your having issues getting connected its on your end, I would check your firewalls and routing on both your system and your router and make sure that options like UPnP are active on both. As long as you have 8+ connections your fine.

Two things: 1.- the data folder is a subfolder of the test folder and it doesn't have a potcoin.conf file in it. There's also NO wallet.dat anywhere in the potcoin folder in the program files. Where do I find those? (I DO have a wallet.dat saved separately, though)
And 2.- when I try to input the nodes manually in the console, after the copy/paste I get this message:

Method not found (code -32601)

Thank you for the help. Now I have put the wallet there and shows the transactions, but remains offline, out of sync and 117 weeks behind because I am not able to put in any nodes. I keep getting the "Method not found code - 32601" message

Thank you for trying to help and if there's anything else I'm not doing correctly, please let me know.

What command are you using in the debug console?
You should be using the following
addnode 127.0.0.1 add
replace 127.0.0.1 with the node your adding, hit enter after each one and you MUST have add at the end of the line or it won't work. Alternatively you can copy/paste the node list from cryptoid into the potcoin.conf file in your %appdata%/potcoin folder, if you don't have a .conf you can create one just make sure that its named potcoin.conf, you may have to edit the name as notepad likes to name it .conf.txt no matter the options you choose for for file type. You can also grab a premade conf from my amazon folder that I shared further up this thread.

What folder does one put the bootstrap.dat in?

Tried a few different folders in the Appdata/Roaming/Potcoin folder without luck.

If someone could give a detailed description of the procedure that would be great.

Questions: The "Potcoin team, who is/are it? Since they haven't done anything for over a year (including NOT doing ANY of the things they promised, like the card and many others), why is anyone going to believe them based on some photoshop-created cans of a pot-drink? What the fuck is this shit of the slack channel being the means of debate of the coin project, de factor isolating the entire altcoin community by not posting here in many months?

Who is paying for what would be a very considerable expense in manufacturing and distributing "the cans' drink"? I put the quote because so far it is only a photoshop image that cost nothing to create. The reality implies a significant cost even in produced in small scale -which would make the drink incredibly expensive even if no profit at all is taken into consideration. This is either overly ambitious -which needs credibility which is lacking 100%- , or just an outright scam. Consequently no one in his sane mind would believe it can be a reality.

What "efforts", specifically, are being made to get vendors to use Potcoin? That ship sailed almost a year ago when we actually had one making specific offers right here on this tread, with plenty of imagery and even (unwarranted) enthusiasm? It's just demagoguery and the truth is that NOTHING is being done -or actually CAN be done- in that regard.

You are PLAYING with the idea of using Bitcoin itself or Ethereum. Either would be fine indeed, but it is hardly the problem of this coin. The real problem of Potcoin is that it is a headless project, completely abandoned for almost a year and now all of a sudden supposedly retaken with an absurdity of an idea (the drink) that stinks like a quick scam given the total lack of credibility of the anonymous "Potcoin team". Nobody in his sane mind would SUPPORT IT IN THIS VERY, VERY, VERY SMALL COMMUNITY, but much less in the entire Altcoin arena in which this is a project most consider -justifiably so- abandoned and death for all intents and purposes. If anyone is serious about Potcoin, other than "rdyoung", it would be great. But a shred of minimal credibility is imperative. "The potcoin team" has none whatsoever.

I mean this could be managed worse on on deliberate purpose -and considerable skill at that-. More than by pot heads, by crack heads. Amazing is really to say the least.

You need to drop it in the folder that has the wallet.dat and relaunch the qt.

First quit/exit the running wallet.
Second move/copy/whatever the bootstrap.dat into the potcoin folder under appdata.
Third launch the wallet again and it should indicate that its parsing the files from the disk, when thats finished which can take awhile depending on the speed of hdd and ram, etc it will start syncing from the network.

Alternatively you can grab the quick start pack I have up on amazon cloud. I have a batch file that will launch the qt and designate the local folder for the data so you can move it around and don't have to hunt through appdata nor worry about losing it if you need to reinstall windows.

Not sure what you have been smoking or drinking but I suggest you lay off for awhile and let your mind clear up.

The potcoin team has an active channel on slack that I can invite you to if you so desire, but I will do so only on the condition that your willing to work with everyone and play nice. If your willing to chip in and help thats great, if not kindly STFU and leave this thread alone.

There is a growing team of people chipping in to grow potcoin.
One of the most notable is a fork of coinomi for android that gives us a mobile wallet for potcoin. They have also submitted that code to coinomis github so the next time they roll up a new release it will hopefully be included.

I was attempting to help you figure out the potcoin wallet but I forgot that your a troll, sorry about that.
I will be putting you back on ignore and I suggest others here do the same to prevent them from having to deal with you.
