Every time a block is mined, a certain amount of BTC (called the subsidy) is created out of thin air and given to the miner. The subsidy halves every four years and will reach 0 in about 130 years.

Honestly I would wait for a comment from the POT team... right now this would be like trying to catch a falling knife. Network is in shambles, non-responsive team, delisting... nothing looking positive here unfortunately,

My big ole POT bag has lost quite a bit of value. I am not selling but definitely not buying more.

I agree. Maybe the team is working hard somewhere behind the scenes, maybe great news are coming, just maybe. We don't know for sure. I'm not selling only because I don't see the point of doing that at such a low price. I would rather wait to see what happens next

"The POT network is barely functioning"

No its really working fine since the beginning.
I have been mining a little years ago and then staked a few years. I only once had a problem with connections so that i had to add some nodes mannually into the client.

Somehow the explorer of potcoin is not connected well since a few days https://chain.potcoin.com/  Huh
But you can use https://chainz.cryptoid.info/pot/

POT is really great because:

-Working Explorer: https://chainz.cryptoid.info/pot/

-Paperwallet: https://walletgenerator.net/?currency=Potcoin

-Coinomi Full HD wallet Support https://www.coinomi.com/

-Shapeshift of POT possible https://shapeshift.io/legacy
Really who needs POLO  Roll Eyes

-Staking of coins via Wallet https://www.potcoin.com/wallets

-Years on the Market and great real Projects for World peace  Grin

-Look at Market Cap, this high quality coin is underrated  Wink

"These are almost all entry level items needed for a functioning coin in my opinion. "

You are 100% right  Wink

But even if you look at the top 100 Coins on coinmarketcap you will see that many coins do not really have this support.

Potcoin is in the range of top 500 and has a marketcap of around 5mio dollar. In this range there is nothing you can compare to POT.

And if you compare it to other Weed related currencies, you will see that it has the most support of all.
Also Potcoins are not created out of thin air, because it was POW (scrypt) and after 50% of max supply it changed to POS.
There is a lot of scam out there, but POT is real.  Grin

"can you tell me about any recent developments from the POT team"

No, not really. I do not know who is working on it and i have not that kind of overview. Maybe somebody else can answer.

But let me answer with a quest.

Does a working Blockchain need development? -Maybe development will be done if its necessary. Now its working fine.

Does a decentralized currency really need a development team? -Maybe the team is the community and its stakeholders.

What do you expect/miss in a POS coin with this Marketcap?

lol... "working" blockchain I would question but yes, a blockchain needs development. This space is still so young that if the team is not active now there is a problem. If you are not growing you are dying. The price of POT, the polo delisting and the other upcoming probable delistings will solidify this statement. Go download a wallet and try to sync from scratch and let me know how it goes.

If the community and stakeholders were the "team" you would have been able to answer my first question.

I expect more out of a coin with this marketcap...

These are not personal attacks or FUD but simply stated facts.

Lol  Cheesy Really  Roll Eyes Grin
Someone who has invested in Dopecoin is talking shit about Potcoin. I see where this is going...

I asked what do you expect and you answered "more"  Roll Eyes More what?

"This space is still so young"
- no its very old compared to other cryptos and its the first and oldest Pot related coin. Dopecoin is a lot younger and i also see no development. Why have you invested in this ponzi?

"Go download a wallet and try to sync from scratch and let me know how it goes."
-ok i will do that, it may take days or weeks, but its working and if you do not want to have a full node you can use a thin client or a HD wallet for example coinomi. A user does not need to download the whole chain. Only a supporter who wants to stake needs a synced full node.

"If the community and stakeholders were the "team" you would have been able to answer my first question. "
-So you expect that every member of a company can answer every question? I think that the people are different and have different skills. So you have different jobs and different knowledge.

Maybe i will ask the same questions on the dopecoin thread and see where this is going.

These are not personal attacks or FUD but simply stated facts.  Cheesy  Wink

My expectation of more is a team that communicates with people who hold their coin... like me.

I hold DOPE, POT, GRWI, MOTA and CANN... whats your point? lol I am all over these cannabis cryptos and I am neck deep especially in Pot because its been around so long.

My reference to this "space" is crypto in general, not just pot. 10 years since bitcoin whitepaper came out and we are barely even touching the surface of the overall size of this market and we already have radio silence from a long standing coin.

In regards to the wallet...I am a user who wants to run a full node like I do on almost every coin I am holding long term. I want to stake, why hold a PoS coin and not stake it? Its like giving up free money. There used to be a community member who kept updating a bootstrap file to sync faster but that has stopped or at least I havnt seen it in a while. I bought a new PC, went to download the wallet so I can run a full node/stake my coins and I am having issues getting the wallet to sync... sooo my coins are just sitting in a backup .dat file currently.

It appears that currently less than 3% of the entire supply of POT is being staked to help secure the network... https://chainz.cryptoid.info/pot/#!extraction  Huh

No, I dont expect every community member/team member to answer "every" question... I would like for them to start answering ANY questions lol This rhetoric we have going back and forth is great but where are some actual answers about this project? That is what I am seeking. Where is Josh? The man told some of the other cannabis-crypto devs he was waiting on the Canadian legalization to release some big news and where is it?

I wont respond to your hits on Dope as I am not here to shill any other coin... I am only trying to get an answer on my POT bags.

"My expectation of more is a team that communicates with people who hold their coin... like me. "

-Sure but its hard to communicate with you and it takes time. It is a decentralised currency. So what do you expect.
If you want try to talk to BTC or LTC team and you will see what i mean.
But it is possible to communicate. Do your research and you will see where the most of POT holders talk.
Bitcointalk is not the only communication channel and its also not secure. This thread here is just for important technical stuff.

"I hold DOPE, POT, GRWI, MOTA and CANN... whats your point?"

-That you maybe did no real research on the coins. Its not a token not an ico and not a company. Its decentralised and run by the community. There is no real leader. And due to the fact that the most people here are smokers they might be kind of lazy. And as long as the house is not on fire, everything else is fine.  Grin

"My reference to this "space" is crypto in general, not just pot"

-So why are you diversifying your portfolio among all weed related coins? Maybe your interest is weed in general and not really decentralised crypto currency.  Cheesy

"I am a user who wants to run a full node like I do on almost every coin I am holding long term. I want to stake, why hold a PoS coin and not stake it? Its like giving up free money."

-So do it! You are able to stake but it takes a while to sync. Just let it always run if your computer is on and you will get it in weeks or months depending on how many hours a day you are online. All start is hard. You ever tried to sync a full node of BTC or LTC?

"There used to be a community member who kept updating a bootstrap file to sync faster but that has stopped or at least I havnt seen it in a while."

-A bootstrap is not a good idea, its an attack vector. And it leads to the point that people are not running their wallets long. Also it is not needed. Let it sync naturally. Chill relax and take a spliff.  Wink

"It appears that currently less than 3% of the entire supply of POT is being staked to help secure the network.."

-Its not good but it is no real problem. Only 3% of POT is being staked, but you have to consider that a lot of POT is held on exchanges, in cold wallets or in nodes not staking.  Also it was a scrypt coin and is old so not all people are staking yet. Even PIVX has only 20% falling, and it was designed PoS from the beginning...

"Where is Josh?"

-He is alive and posting every day. But he is not the leader. You can talk to him if you do your research.
This here, is not a chat channel!
This is an important thread that is getting spammed since mid 2017 with crappy cannabis related coins, tokens and icos.
But i will do that research for you...-> https://t.me/potcoin420

"I wont respond to your hits on Dope as I am not here to shill any other coin...I am only trying to get an answer on my POT bags."

-Ok cool. Sorry for my bad mood. Had a lot of stress. But you are connected to GRWI as their Consultant. So in fact you are pushing your own coin while posting here.  Roll Eyes
Many People are just here because they want to gain money and not support the coin. It makes me kind of angry if you look at the pump and dump they have done to this coin. Its only creating volatility in a volatile market and the spammers benefit.
