This depends on the coin. Ethereum, for example, is not very related as its blockchain structure and network serves different functionalities than Bitcoin.

I think that the only thing that matters right now is btc. The losses in alts wont matter if btc makes it.

Hey everyone,
How strongly Altcoin value relate to bitcoin price. Can we know the condition of ETH/BTC ratio by analyzing BTC/USD value ?

Very strongly if you ask me. The price of altcoins is greatly influenced by the price of bitcoin which is why everytime you see the price of bitcoin going up or down the prices of all of the altcoins follow suit. This is because all of the coins have trading pairs with bitcoin which means that anything that happens to the price of bitcoin will definitely affect the price of the altcoins.

The most of altcoins are traded for Bitcoin, which means you can only buy them (or sell) using Bitcoin. If the Bitcoin price drops down you can usually observe the same move in regard to the altcoin price chart.

It is useless to try to calculate this coefficient. He's constantly changing. I know only one thing - bitcoin can kill weak altcoins at any time.

Bitcoin is a very very important thing in the crypto world. Bitcoin is a major cryptocurrency in the crypto world. 90% of altcoin is based on the Bitcoin. So Bitcoin price effect on a lot of other altcoins. Bitcoin is really important to altcoins movement. Already, bitcoin is the most popular currency.

Definitely, Bitcoin can effect on altcoins. No doubts for that thing. Thank you!

BTC / alcoin and BTC / USDT always have a close relationship. Part of the BTC is dominating the digital money market. Every move of BTC can also make the market. The power and dominance of BTC is too great.

Hey there Nicolaus!

I remember talking to a crypto guru friend of mine and telling me that "theoretically" altcoin prices is supposedly indifferent of bitcoin's.

And that is actually true! should people remain with altcoins before converting their digital cash to fiat money!

But we see that the rampant practice is to have our altcoins traded and exchanged with BTC and from BTC to fiat money which in turn, grants value relativity.

Altcoin of course remains independent of its price but the actual value becomes dependent of bitcoin when it is to be converted to fiat money afterwards.

And yes, ETH/BTC ratio can be analyzed using the BTC/USD exchange rate.

Of course bitcoin price affects the price of all altcoins! Bitcoin controls the entire market, and against him n one altcoin will not go

I think the bitcoin effect greatly affects all altcoin, we know that bitcoin is a crypto coin king that has a high value compared to other altcoin, so if bitcoin value falls, altcoin also decreases and vice versa if bitcoin value increases then altcoin will also increase, maybe it's about bitcoin prices that greatly affect all altcoin.

Bitcion always effect on all crypto currency. if btc  fall down then all crpto market effect  to down.Bitcoin is the center of the crypto economy in many ways, and with BTC trading pairs on every exchange, the gravity of Bitcoin is hard to escape. This only becomes more true has people start to “take gains” or “cut losses” from alts to buy Bitcoin.

I think that there should not be a single drop of doubt in this, because it is exactly bitcoin that is today the project behind which all atlcoins move, it is through bitcoin that people's interest in crypto-currencies is determined.

Some of the altcoins that survive do not go too far even though the price of bitcoin soars or drops, what I conclude is that the amount of volume increases, the price can gradually increase

Altcoins are cryptocurrencies. Therefore alt’s prices will react the same way as Bitcoin in case of government regulations or macroeconomic factors concerning cryptocurrencies.

The variation in the prices of bitcoin will have effects on altcoins to an extent where the altcoins will need to push their self to either increase or decrease in value, the effect of bitcoin is like the effects of variation in dollar to other smaller currency in terms of value. The exchange rate is determined by the prices fluctuations of dollar, so also applies to bitcoin. Bitcoin determines mostly the variations and fluctuations of the market prices.

BTC/altcoin is closely tied, because BTC represents the crypto market. Also, every alt trades mostly into BTC, so it keeps them strongly connected.
I wish it would be different, but it isn't. I'm sorry about that, because it makes everyone think "BTC=Crypto".

I think BTC price will influate on altcoins price always. Sometimes you can see strong influance but sometimes it's a very little.
