more from one of my two "no device" machines - this all happened in less than 24 hours of running them at default clock. 30% failure rate from my order within 24 hours of their 3 month late delivery

Found some solutions - wow I remember how much I used to love troubleshooting

So for the one where the web interface did not work, I used ssh to connect, then put the following command in the command line:

/usr/bin/screen -dmS miner /opt/minepeon/bin/cgminer -c /opt/minepeon/etc/miner.conf

and that got it running, so just a manual start worked.

For the one where the ras pi kept dying, I figured that was a faulty raspberry pi, so I swapped it with the raspberry pi that was having the cgminer screen output of hashfast device initialization failed, then swapped the SD card between these two raspi devices, and that worked.

So down to just one that will not work which presumably has a bad raspi board AND a bad SD card now, so I am going to leave it overnight to see if it fixes itself and hope my overnight shipment of raspberry pis with sd cards arrives tommorrow.

Hey BigTimeCoin -

If the Pi's don't arrive in time, a last resort option is just to load a recent cgminer on a spare windows or linux box (if you have one lying around).

You should just be able to connect to the hashing board via USB. I believe that is how the Sierras are to be run, i.e. no built-in controller.

Can you provide more details about using a PC to run cgminer while connecting to Hashfast device with USB cable?

Do I need a driver?

What command line options to use?

So far I have not been successful in getting this to work.

So I read the cgminer readme, which says that it supports hashfast devices. 
I used zadig to install the WinUSB driver, it shows up as "M1 Module" and windows does detect it.  It is listed as a connected device. 
Then ran cgminer, it connects to the pool and gives me the screen, but it has 0.000 MH/s.

Is there an easy way to overclock these via the minerpeon "Miner Startup Settings"? Right now I'm having to SSH in to edit my miner.conf, which is really annoying.

Also, I've noticed SSH access on like half my babyjets is not working.

Great, so it appears that hashfast device support is by default disabled in the build you can download from ckolivas site, and I will have to build cgminer with the --enable-hashfast flag.  And the build instructions seem detailed and thorough, but what a project...

Yea i saw post 5 and I put that in that hard way via SSH and editing the miner.conf on my raspberry pi. I'm just wondering if there is an easier way.

My web gui works, but i'm an idiot when it comes to doing anything in linux. What do I put in the miner startup settings to be able to overclock? Just dumping --hfa-hash-clock in there doesn't work.

It takes an integer value as well.

If you are feeling gutsy try:

-hfa-hash-clock 600

Yea i added an integer value after --hfa-hash-clock, it doesn't seem to take effect at all and continues using the default of 550 no matter what I put in the miner startup settings.

i'm on slush pool and my estimated reward keeps going up and down today.  my total rewards has not gone up since this morning.  is anyone experiencing the same issue?

Well... my BJ1 is mining fine at around 400GH/s.

The web interface is pretty nice.  Never used Minepeon before.

I am however having trouble gaining ssh access to the pi.

Anyone able to ssh into there raspberry pi's?

Mine just says port 22 Connection refused.

I usually see that if sshd isn't running (nothing listening at 22).  
I tried rebooting the pi, but no luck.

Anyone do anything special to login?
I guess worst case, I can hookup a monitor and keyboard, but ... since it is working okay... I may just go with it.

I noticed that ckolivas has been making a lot of changes to the cgminer git repo with hashfast changes.  I've cloned the git repo on my rpi and I'm going to compile a new version that has the latest changes.
